I intend on handing these down to one of my sons or grand children many years from now. I've seen boom stands cost more, but I have a hard time believing they are built any better.

Sound
N/A: If it sounds bad you need a new cymbol.

Features
I can't say they are better or worse than any other top of the line boom stands. Since I bought my Mapex kit I always try to get Mapex hardwear to go along with it. I will say that I personally love the double braces, and when you lock'em down they stay where you put'em. The other great thing about the Mapex boom stands is the molded rubber knobs that your cymbols rest on and are tightened down with. Most modles have a peice of felt between two hard plastic clamps. I have never heard any other drummers complain about that set-up but, I really like the molded rubber parts and think they will probablly become standard on most boom stands one day.

Ease of Use
It doesn't get much easier. It may take a little while to position your cymbol for the right angle and sweet spot but the boom stand will hold it however you like it.

Quality
Strong, sturdy and practicle. Don't drop it on your foot and you will have nothing to complain about with this boom stand.

Value
It's hard to believe I won't still be useing these 20 years from now. You can play as hard as you want and only the cymbols will move. read more

Manufacturer Support
I have never needed it yet. They ship me what I purchase in a timely fashion and in working order.

The Wow Factor
It's a chrome boom stand so the sex appeal is subject to the drums around it. If you have a bad ass kit nobody will notice your cymbol stands I promise.
