The Ibanez banjo is back! Inspired by '70s models, the B100 banjo boasts intricate inlays and projects big, bright sound from its Remo Weatherking head.

Ibanez back in the banjo biz? That news raised an eyebrow or two last year among old school pickers, especially those who know what their old 70s Ibanez banjos will fetch at a vintage shop.

The Ibanez B100 is inspired by one those fine instruments from the 70s, when the company was working with legends like Earl Scruggs. Vintage banjo fans will recognize the inlay work and headstock design. But the rebirth is more than skin deep. The B100 offers amazing tone quality in comparison to those old instruments. The 20th century version benefits from production technology that simply did not exist back in the day. The aluminum head offers a bright, projected sound character. The steel tension hoop with 30-pc bracket along with the die-cast tuners are a guarantee of performance stability from gig to gig.
