Need more than just an audio interface? The Hercules DJ Console Rmx Pro is a top-tier DJ-centered audio interface and controller with DJ software included.

Combining a DJ controller, mixer, and USB audio interface in one unit that's not much bigger than a laptop, the Hercules DJ Console Rmx Pro was designed and built tough for the gigging DJ on the move. It fits easily and inconspicuously into any messenger or laptop bag, yet packs surgically precise controls and serious audio fidelity into its sturdy steel chassis.

Sleek and Stealthy, Built to Travel

Ever brave the subway with your arms full of gear? The trip to the club is invariably on a packed train, with every late commuter and anxious tourist glaring at you for invading their precious personal space with your bulky coffin case. And on the ride home after the gig, it's the lack of company that's a concern -- you've got to keep your head on a swivel or else risk some low-life punk making off with the tools of your trade, in which case you've just spun a charity gig. That's when the Rmx Pro's compact footprint comes in handy. The interface measures less than 14 by 11 inches, is rugged enough to take more than its fair share of elbows, and, aside from your laptop, includes everything you'll need for the night in a single unit. You'll escape the attentions of fellow subway riders and would-be criminals -- though the club crowd will never forget you.

Complete Audio Interface

The Hercules DJ Console Rmx Pro and your computer are all you need for a night of debauchery. Housed within this sleek unit is a high-resolution digital-to-analog audio interface and a wealth of read more routing and input options, completely replacing the need for any additional mixing equipment. For main outs you have two options: professional 1/4-inch outputs or consumer RCA jacks, so no matter what your club's sound system, you'll be able to plug right in. If you do want to bring more equipment to the gig, a pair of analog stereo inputs with input level switches let you connect MP3 players, CD decks, or even turntables, any of which can be mixed via software control. Of course there's also a dedicated headphone out for previewing tracks, and Hercules even includes a mic input with dedicated gain. In concert with the included software's auto-talk-over feature, you'll be able to add your own flavor to a set (remember to holler judiciously).

Precision Software Control

Get comprehensive and tactile control over the included VirtualDJ software -- or any virtual DJ program that supports MIDI control messages -- with your Rmx Pro's 12 rotary encoders, 46 buttons, and six faders. Two jog wheels, while compact, offer enough precision for scratch moves and more than enough precision for quick-cueing and tempo adjusting. The pitch control faders offer center detents, the cross and channel volume faders are fast and smooth, and there's even a master-volume fader for quickly calibrating your audio output with whatever gear the club is packing. While the Rmx Pro gives you plenty of control options, the whole control surface is so intelligently laid out that you'll never feel cramped or crowded.

It's A Party, And Every Audio Format Is Invited

The Hercules DJ Console Rmx Pro exists to make your life easier. To this end, it supports both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Likewise, the included software supports an impressively wide variety of audio formats. Got MP3, AIFF, WAV, WMA, OGG Vorbis or drive-loaded CD Audio? No problem, the included VirtualDJ 5 software can play them all.

You want to get noticed at the club, but you don't want to make a scene getting there. Pack the Hercules DJ Console Rmx Pro into your satchel, and only turn heads while you're spinning.

Hercules DJ Console Rmx Interface

The Hercules DJ Console Rmx has been designed to enable mobile DJs as well as club & studio DJs to mix digital music. This "nomadic" device simply connects to the USB port of a PC or Mac laptop. Broad enough in size to allow DJs to mix with unrivalled ease and precision, it is also compact enough to follow users to any event - its measurements (13.8 x 10.7") are equivalent to those of a laptop computer.

For live mixing and seamless integration with the DJ's professional environment, the interface features a solid metal casing and non-slip pads guaranteeing perfect stability. Adding to its stability, the device boasts flawless drivers thanks to the competence of the company's Canadian R&D division and to the expertise acquired by the team over 20 years of experience in computer-assisted audio processing.

Precise, Swift Mixing

The Hercules DJ Console RMX offers DJs precision and speed in all their moves, thanks to 2 ultra-precise jog wheels for moving within tracks and for scratching, 12 rotary switches, 46 push-buttons, 6 faders - including pitch faders with a center detent - plus an innovative and convenient general volume fader. The roomy layout of the controls allows DJs to perfect fumble-free mixes. Indeed, the controls are designed for quick and intuitive use; DJs will find their marks quickly, allowing them to focus their full attention and ability to the music and the dance floor.

Specialized DJing Audio Features

As an expert in the design of audio interfaces, Hercules determined that the integration of an audio interface featuring 4 inputs & 4 outputs was both obvious and essential. The interface grants access to unique features such as:

Four audio outputs offering:
- Maximum sound over four mono 1/4" jack outputs, outputting +4dBu for PA equipment,
- Audio output levels at -10dBv over 4 RCA outputs, for connecting consumer devices (hi-fi systems, recording devices etc.)

Simple integration to the DJ's equipment by means of 2 stereo analog inputs enabling users to mix, via the DJ software, external sources with digital music; the console also features a phono/line-level selector on each input, ideal for connecting turntables, CD or MP3 players and rhythm boxes.

Microphone (with talk-over feature) and headset (for preview feature) connectors are accessible on the console's upper face and front face, enabling DJs to use the console with unrivalled ease, whether in a flight case, on a DJ stand or on a tabletop!

Optimum Digital DJing Control

The Hercules DJ Console Rmx comes with VirtualDJ 5 DJC Edition, the reference in the DJing world for PC, now also available for Mac. VirtualDJ 5 DJC Edition instantly connects to the console. The software includes features and settings specific to the interface, and combines the power of the VirtualDJ mixing engine with the ergonomics of a high end controller. The interface is a MIDI controller and therefore compatible with other MIDI-controlled software applications.

Broad Compatibility

The unit enables DJs to mix the music files stored on their PC or Mac in the following formats: MP3, AIFF, WAV, WMA, OGG & CD Audio, as well as the iTunes library.

For the price this is an excellent controller. Mixing 2 decks is easy and the sound card is outstanding. You can map 99% of the controls to any function you want making it easy to set up as your own. What is missing in the standard config. A filter control for each deck. Effects control. Seperate hot que or loop functions. All of this can be mapped however. Would I gig with this controller? I would but I might bring a seperate sample player and looper if it was Dubstep ect. The extra inputs allows for this. Would I use this controller to learn with? Absolutely.

Sound
Overall a good entry level controller with great features. Built in USB sound card, 2 deck mixing, headphone out mic in, 4 outs and 4 ins. The extra inputs are great for adding 2 addtional sources like CD players.

Features
Included is a great gig bag.

Ease of Use
Very easy to set up and use. I did not use the included DJ software but rather tested it with Traktor LE and Traktor Pro. With Traktor LE I was set up and running in 5 minutes mixing 2 decks. With Traktor Pro it took a couple hours to map the controller to my style. The mappings can be downloaded from many sites around the net.

Quality
This thing is sturdy. Every button feels tough and every knob is solid. The jogs are the best I have seen in this price range.

All things considered if you need to mix 2 decks only this is a solid controller. You do have the option of bringing in other sources with extra inputs.

Manufacturer Support
Web support was easy to use to get the updated drivers and mapping files.

The Wow Factor
This is an attractive controller.
