"I like this bass a lot"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I bought my black Guild Starfire new, it came with the case also. I had to have those bridge screws replaced right away, along with dialing the bass really in and I had every problem that might arise, fixed by my Luther. Now, that the bass set up right, it sounds incredible. He replaced those screws the shorter screws on the bridge. Then he really detailed the bass in, really nicely for me. He turned the bass into a very nice rich tone machine. Now the basses intonation is perfect and It sounds very nice with that nice deep rich tone to it, even with round wounds.

Sound
Now, that my Guild Starfire bass has been fixed. It sounds and plays wonderful. With flat wounds, it has that nice old school tone. With round wounds, you can get more variety in your tones. Then, I use DR Sunbeams short scale round wound strings on my Guild. If I use flat wounds, I prefer to use Pyramid Gold flats. I don't like La Bella's. Because, I fill that they are too taught and TIs, are a little to floppy for me. The, Pyramid Gold flats seem to be just perfect for my 500/1 Hofner's. On my 500/8 Hofner, I use DR Sunbeams rounds wounds, which I love the tone on. On my Guild Starfire I bass, I use DR sunbeams short scale round wound strings or if I'm going for that old school tone, I use Pyramid Gold Flats on it. Just IMO.

Features
I fill the bass is really great and has a great tone to it. They did a nice job on building this bass. Except for a read more few minor mistakes, like the bridge adjustment screws, that I replaced.

Ease of Use
very easy.

Quality
I fill that they did a very good job on building this bass.

Value
Yes.
