"beefy twang"

Feature:
good packaging, all the needed bits plus directions, surgical tubing etc. very adjustable.

Quality:
no problems on any of them. they hold up well and look great.

Value:
less expensive than a set of fralins..but if you have a few tele's you need these on one, and fralins on another.

Desirability:
A tele is not sexy... I gretsch sparkle jet is sexy. I tele looks like a shop project. A cool shop project.

Sound:
Hot pickups with nice vintage sound. i have 5 tele's and have swapped out pickups a few times. I settled on texas specials which were MUCH hotter and beefier than the stock pickups. The mexican tele owner who said they sound like the stock pickups may have ear-plugs in. i have a couple sets of Lindu Fralins, which can be a bit chimey, but are great for recording.The texas specials are super responsive live and really respond to a little overdrive. Very happy with these. Adjust them differently for each guitar.

no support needed, but fender is huge and will usually help out.

"go with a seymour duncan"

I own 4 made in mexico Teles..I have replaced the bridge pickups in all because I found them to be weak and had very little tonal quality,,, I took a roll of the dice and tried one of the "FENDER TEXAS SPECIAL" pickups,,i purchased the unit new,and it was professionally installed,what a disappointment!!!!!
This pickup is about as limp and soggy as a wet noodle,,,no different from the stock pickups installed on the "made in mexico" teles,,,a true disappointment,
I have seymour duncan pickups in two of my "mexican" teles which are very simillar in design,,and they could mop the floor with this fiasco,,, my advice?? spend the few extra bucks and buy a REAL pickup

Born in the Custom Shop and used on many custom-made Teles, they feature height-staggered Alnico 5 magnets mounted into a fiber bobbin wrapped with enamel-coated magnet wire. The bridge pickup features a copper-plated steel bottom plate for increased output, presence and midrange. The neck pickup utilizes a nickel silver cover for clear, warm tone with increased output. OEM on the James Burton Standard, Merle Haggard Tribute, and American Classic Telecasters.
