An Arsenal of Tonal Options

Fender has designed a preamp circuit for the American Deluxe Jazz Bass V with an active/passive toggle switch allowing you to choose between a an aggressive and clear active sound or warmer passive tone. The Noiseless N3 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups deliver clear tones with the low-end definition needed to handle the low B-string. When you're not playing, the pickups help to reduce unwanted hum and noise. Tone controls include master volume and treble, middle, and bass boost/cut knobs to help dial in your ideal sound.

Neck Designed for Maximum Playability

The American Deluxe Jazz Bass V features an asymmetrical C-shape neck crafted for players who like to explore the higher reaches of scales. The compound radius fretboard gets wider as your hand travels up the neck, making for high notes that don't buzz and eliminating the need to customize the action just for the upper frets' sake. The lower end of the fretboard has a 9.5" radius for comfortable rhythm playing.

Stay True to the Classics

Though the five strings and updated electronics give this bass a modern feel, the American Deluxe V String Jazz Bass sticks to many of the model's time-honored read more appointments. Vintage-style Fender tuning keys are a throwback to the Jazz Basses of the past, as are the classic black fretboard inlays. Ash bodies were popular in '50s-era Fenders, and this model's ash construction lends a firm tightness to its low-end sounds.

Features:

- Ash body
- Noiseless N3 single coil Jazz Bass pickups in bridge and neck positions
- Active/passive toggle switch
- Master volume and boost/cut controls for treble, middle, and bass

The American Deluxe Jazz V Electric Bass (maple) is the finest Fender Jazz Bass on the market short of a Custom Shop bass. Gorgeous looks, excellent playability and a broad palette of tones makes it a truly exceptional instrument.
Sound
Tonal pallet is broad, with low, mid and high controls in Active mode, and a sweeping tone control for Passive mode. Nearly any tome is possible, from growling low mids to scooped mids to punchy slap tones and mellow R&B sounds.
Features
All components are top-notch. N3 Noiseless pickups are just that, and the ability to switch between Active and Passive modes is a real plus for players who demand a broad spectrum of sounds. The bridge is beefy and the modern "C" shaped neck is a pleasure to play. Stacked tone knobs are also a big plus.
Ease of Use
The bass played wonderfully right out of the box. It's slightly heavy (it's a 5-string, after all). Setup was spectacular.
Quality
Couldn't be better-constructed. Should last a lifetime if well-cared for. Finish is perfect - back pick guard on black finish is ultra-classy, and the pearloid inlays just add to the ambiance.
Value
Worth every penny.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with customer support, but registration online is cake.
The Wow Factor
WOW! Looks great and plays and sounds even better.
