Get two classic effects, fuzz and vibe, in one effects pedal. With control of the stacking order, you can have fuzz before vibe or the other way around.

The DVK Technologies GoldTop is a dual function pedal featuring DVK's take on a classic fuzz and vibe. The circuits can be engaged separately or used together for some great modulated fuzz tones. Additionally, DVK has provided a toggle switch that lets you change the stacking order of these effects - fuzz before vibe or visa versa. Some people prefer their fuzz before their vibe and others prefer it after so DVK thought they might as well give you the option to use whatever configuration you prefer.

DVK Technologies GoldTop Fuzz Vibe Features

- The circuits can be engaged separately or used together for some great modulated fuzz tones
- Toggle switch lets you change the stacking order of the effects, fuzz before vibe or visa versa
- The 'Shape' lets you dial in more mids which will help your leads cut through the stage mix
- Ability to control the Vibe via an expression pedal
- Compact, rugged, and stylish housing

DVK GoldTop Fuzz

DVK's fuzz is loosely based on the 'Big M' type. However, they have tweaked it to their preference to offer you a wider tonal pallet. It can be manipulated to give scooped tones and with the help of the 'Shape' knob you'll be able to dial in more mids which will help your leads cut through the stage mix. Of course, the amount of fuzz it generates will depend largely on the pickups in your guitar. For instance, low output single coil pickups will yield les fuzz than high output humbuckers.

DVK GoldTop Vibrato

The GoldTop's vibe side has read more its roots based in the classic vibes of yore but DVK has modified the original considerably to enable it to be rate controlled via an expression pedal and also to fit it into the same case as their great fuzz, thereby offering you a highly useful combination in a small package. It wasn't easy and the months long process of perfecting the circuit nearly cost The Doc his sanity. The vibe in the GoldTop has been specifically voiced for the GoldTop. You may be aware of the GoldTop's sister pedal, the SilverTop. The SilverTop's vibe has been specifically voiced for it, as well. While similar, both have been optimized to compliment their respective accompanying distortion circuits.

Because the GoldTop features two circuits (fuzz and vibe) you can combine the two, in any order, at your whim. Doing so will avail you a huge array of sonic possibilities that stretches from Woodstock to Wollongong (Google it). You've just got to experiment and have fun!

Rate: Controls the rate/speed of the modulation in the vibe/chorus circuit. Turning it clockwise will make the rate faster.

Depth: Lets you dial in the amount or 'depth' of the vibe/chorus effect. Rotating this knob further clockwise will make your effect sound thicker or more pronounced.

Chorus/Vibe toggle: Lets you choose between the chorus or vibe effects. Be aware that we aren't talking about the chorus sound you may be thinking of; this on has more to do with the swishy psychedelia than 80's pop hits.

Fuzz: Lets you determine how much dirt or fuzz you want to add to your signal. In the fully anti-clockwise position it will be less fuzz. Winding it clockwise will increase the amount of fuzz.

Level: Controls the overall output of the fuzz circuit only.

Tone: Lets you wind more top end into your signal.

Shape: Lets you manipulate the mid range. You can use this knob to effectively 'scoop' your tone, giving it a heavy bottom and top EEQ accent, or wind it the other way to bring some more mid-range frequencies into your tone. More mids in your tone may help you cut through the stage mix a little better; the 'scooped' tones will give the 'stoner' sound. So experiment. After all, that's what it's there for.

I had to send it back twice, this pedal sucks. I do not need a crappy pedal to make my sound rock.

Sound
The chorus/vibe sound is sucky, litterally, it sucks your tone and there is noticeable volume drop like those crappy EHX Nano Clone. The only reason I liked it was due to the fuzz side. It had good bite to to a good crunch like a Big Muff but the Chorus sucks the tone.

Features
Three pedals(Vibe,Chorus,Fuzz) in one is basically great but way to much money for a tone sucker and a fuzz. The expression side is good but for the money it should come with a expression pedal too.

Ease of Use
Just press the switch and adjust the knobs.

Quality
It is made well but the one I order here was somewhat faulty as the SHAPE knob was popping out and could easily be moved around by accident with your foot trying to engage the fuzz switch due it the Shape Knob missing a nut and its funny because I returned it and I bought another one from Nova Musik and it wasn't missing a nut from the Shape knob but the serial number was just one more than the previous pedal and I dont know how just a small thing can slip away. Besides that issue the case looked strong but not enough to make me keep it.

Value
The pedal is ehh, if you like the idea of 2 pedals in one because maybe these 2 pedal are the one you need but I think I will stick to my Boss Fz-3, read more Big Muff and my Boss CE-2. Much more bang for the buck and no sucking on tone.

Manufacturer Support
I emailed DVK via there website, it took a day or two to get a respond but Brian was friendly and responded fast enough afterward about the SHAPE issue and helped out by offering me to send it back to there local USA retailer but then later asked me to send it to Australia. It didn't phase me as I just sent it back to zzounds and got my money back but the 2nd pedal from Nova Musik also featured the tone sucking chorus side. So I returned it as well and Nova Musik sucks as they have a 15% restocking fee and charged me the initial shipping fee and I wasted 9.00 sending it back to them too.

The Wow Factor
The logo cover looks cool but mine looked like it could be peeled off and the red eye rabbit that blinks when you adjust the rate was cool, the small size of the pedal but looks don't mean much.
