A dynamic all around microphone for vocal use at a very attractive price. Excellent for speech.

The AKG Model D3700 is a rugged dynamic hypercardioid microphone intended for on-stage instrumental and vocal pickup. Its hypercardioid pattern is uniform with frequency, and response has been boosted at mid and high frequencies for crisp instrumental pickup and improved speech intelligibility. The microphone capsule is shock mounted with an easily removable wire mesh grill. The smooth triangular shape of the microphone is easier to hold than normal circular cross-section designs and is stable when the microphone is placed on a surface. The lightweight body is die-cast zinc alloy and has a dark matte finish for minimum reflection and glare. The D3700S shall have a recessed, noiseless on-off switch.

"Good for acoustic stuff"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I find the microphone perfect for live singing or first voice recording. The overall quality is really good, the noise is low, but the pops and shhs are very consistent, so you gotta pay a lot of attention to that. It's good for acoustic/classical guitar too, very balanced. In conclusion, a good purchase in my opinion.
