I bought this guitar after seeing a YouTube demo and liking its sound. I also liked the look of it, very unique with the triangular sound hole. My pick guard is the one used on the Rancher Folk (not sure if it's a model-year difference or a parts swap on Gretsch's end at assembly) but it's a beautiful guitar nonetheless! Fit and finish are excellent.I also had ordered the same strings as were used in that online demo (Martin Acoustic SP 80/20 extra light, p/n MSP3000), and I'm glad I did! The original strings that came on mine weren't a good match sonically for this guitar, plus were too heavy for my taste. After restringing with the Martin's, this guitar just sings! I love the sound so much I just want to keep playing it.If you're considering acoustics in this price range, the G3800 should definitely be on your short list!
