Basses come and go and in my 28 years of playing this bass sounds and plays as good as any passive intrument that I have ever owned. I plan on keeping this bass for a long time. I was actually going to buy a Fender American Jazz but I just couldn't pay, or wouldn't pay what they want for them these days. This bass is very comparable to that and very well worth what I payed. I would replace this bass if lost or stolen. One downside (and not really sure it is a downer because this bass is built well)is this bass was made in China, shipped to Schecter in California, and was set up and tested there. I thought all Schecter Instruments were made in Korea. No matter were this one was built it is a great deal at this selling price.

Sound
Very appealing tone from this bass, Push Pull tap on the tone knob is great, you can go from a very appealing slap tone(knob down) to laying down the one-five kind of groove on a country tune (knob up), in an instant. Sustain is very good. Now, I to date have only played and used this bass in my rehearsal room at home, and it is being played thru a Genz Benz 600 connected to a Peavey 1/15 cab. Have yet to play it with my band but, tomorrow night it will go thru some testing in a live situation at a show we have tomorrow night. For this it will be played thru a Line 6 HD 400 and SWR 4/10 cab, and BBE Sonic Maximizer. I have no hesitation in Playing this bass as it sounds great and literally feels like it is built like a read more tank. It has a nice growl when I want it and some very nice tones in the upper register. I play Classic Rock, I play mainly Finger Style with some slap from time to time, I give it a 9 on tone just because I always feel I can get better tone no matter what I am playing, I have never Played a 10 tone bass and I have played and owned some very high cost gear, from a Warwick Streamer Pro M to American Fender Jazz Basses and alot more in between. This bass sounds really good, Playes well, and looks good.

Features
Mine has an Alder Body, Maple Neck, Sunburst Finish, Maple neck and looks good. Push Pull Tab on the tone knob is very nice and you can swith your tone in the middle of a song in an instant with it. Active electronics would be a nice option.

Ease of Use
Maple neck is very Playable and fast. It is a little bigger than a fender jazz, so if you are used to a fender neck you will feel a differance in the thickness of this neck. I have small hands and the neck feels fine to me. Electronics are good, 3 knob configuration is Volume,Volume,Tone(push pull), great feature as I have already stated it comes in very handy.

Quality
Built like a tank hence the 10. I had to have it set up as the neck upon receipt had a dive in the neck on one side, under the D and G string. I equate this to the 4 days it sat at the Atlanta UPS yard due to weather conditions at below or at frezzing temperatures. Action was great once I took the dive out of the nek, easy fix with an allen wrench. Finish is flawless. Not sure that the tuners are Groover though as the image shows Groover written on them in the images I looked at, the bass I recieved doesn't have that but I have no issue with this as the Intonation was decent out of the box and with the neck adjustment, is great. Stays in tune very well and really is a joy to play all the way across, and up and down the neck.

Value
This Bass plays, feels, and sounds Great. I am very Pleased with my purchase.
