"Great sounds, great capabilities, CREATE YOUR OWN SOUND!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
2 years owning it, haven't looked for any replacement. Great for playing gigs. Stands exactly where it should because of its weight. So you won't be dragging it when walking around. The power plug is really good because while it does have htat big black box for it, it the actual 2 prong thing comes out through an extention from it. Great sounds, great capabilities, CREATE YOUR OWN SOUND!!
Sound
Awesome sound comming out of this beast. It takes a while to get exactly what you want, but thats the thing your getting exactly what you want so it's worth the time.
Features
Great MIDI stuff. Wonderful for transfering patches and what not. Also get the best sound from this by tweeking it to the decimal.
Quality
GREAT!! Looks like a monster. I mean all metal construction. And it has this nifty grip thing on the pedal that I think you can like take it off to rinse. But it'll never come off while playing. My pedal is on its second owner and it's holding up perfect.
Value
It's worth every penny you'll invest in it. It sounded great through a lil 10 watt amp, and it sounds wonderfull out of a 120 watt. It's unbeatable.
Manufacturer Support
Support is great. The reason it is, is because I never needed it. Not one problem in two years owning it.
The Wow Factor
Oh well sex appeal towards it is great. Listening to the demo off the cd thats included will make you love it without touching it.

"Awsome Equipment !!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Its an awsome pedal however I supose I might need to use a suplement, (very little though) until the ZOOM factory atend to my needs ... (if they do, of course) !
Sound
its realy good !
Features
Its a realy good pedal board but I think it should have another pedal on it such as the volume/expression so one would b used for the volume n the other to control the effects' variations ... n some of the DLY/REV effects should b able to get mixed with the MOD effects and the Compressor should b apart so it would b able to get mixed with all the distortions.
Quality
Its awsome but it could b a little better, Just a little !
Value
awsome !
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor

"Great tone at a great price"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I think it sounds amazing for the price.
Features
There are a few design decisions that I think Zoom should have considered a little more. The compressor should have been broken out into a different module so it can be used with all the sounds. The amp simulator is global. So if you have a "stack" setting but you are going for a tweed type sound it doesn't sound quite as a convincing, as vice versa. Being able to change the amp sim on a per patch basis would have been nice.
Quality
Very sturdy metal case but I have heard a few stories in the GFX-8 forums and in Harmony Central reviews about the plastic fottswitches breaking. I don't play out live so I'm not that hard on the thing.
Value
I think there are now better products out there, like the Boss GT-6 but they are much more expensive and take a lot more tweaking to get a good sound.
Manufacturer Support
Zoom in Japan is pretty much useless as far as support goes. The American distributor, Samson, isn't much better. They've only replies to one of my emails and it was pretty much a canned response.

"The real thing vs. GFX=8"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm getting another one for backup. That's got to be the ultimate compliment.
Sound
I have a jcm 900 half stack that I've used live for years. I use an Se-50 and dbx 242 for effects and eq. I also own the GFX-8 plugged into the clean channel of a carvin belair. There is no way, no how I can get the jcm to sound as good as the gfx/belair combo. I've tweaked till my fingers went numb. I can't beleive I'm using digital distortion and loving it. Side by side there is no comparison. The gfx provides touch sensitive tone with masive distortion that gets even better when you crank it. That's the bottom line, I love the other features but the tone is unbelievable.
