"Very handy for controlling setups"

I've owned mine for over two years now and I still use it as the central MIDI controller for my guitar rig (w/ two amps/processors) as well as controlling my light setup through a MIDI:DMX converter. I'd replace it if they made the improvements suggeted in the "Feature" section
Sound
There is no sound but it does make expressing the sound potential in MIDI gear very well.
Features
Its very versatile which is its most useful feature. Its lack of a CC controller input specifically for Tap tempo (or other on/off functions) that can map to multiple devices is pain.
Ease of Use
Fairly easy to use once you get the hang of programming it.
Quality
Very well made. The footswitches are solid and easy to find and hit.
Value
Since there is nothing else that I could find that does what this does, its value is high.
Manufacturer Support
Dunno
The Wow Factor
Its a pretty cool thing. Nice LED displays

"MFC-10 = Swiss Army Knife of MIDI foot controllers."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I hope this lasts longer than I do, as it is used daily by me and has thus far been reliable.
Sound
No sound quality at all on this, but it is a GREAT switching system. Very flexible! Heard this referred to as the Swiss Army knife of MIDI foot controllers, and I'd say that is a great analogy.
Features
Wish this had an internal power supply and not that feeble wall wart transformer that is ships with.
Ease of Use
A bit confusing programming, but careful study of the manual should help to clarify.
Quality
Wish there was more metal on this, but it is still quite solid.
Value
I own 2 of these. One for a backup!
Manufacturer Support
Have had to call on programming for this, but it has all been quite helpful when you get your call back from Yamaha. Usually a 24 hour turnaround on help.
The Wow Factor
This question should be removed from this list, makes no sense whatsoever. This is musical gear, not a porno film or lingerie.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I'm afraid the unit will be discontinued so I buy them (when I can afford it) when I see a good price.
Sound
it doesn't make sound
Features
Flexible and easy to program. Reliable and sturdy. I've been using the same unit without issue for 5 years. During that time I also went through 4 Berhringer FCB1010 pedals and the MFC10 and FCB1010's got the same amount of use and travel. The MFC10 is still going strong after 4 FCB1010 have died.
Ease of Use
Good interface. Transmits on/off, data strings and cc msgs. Will transmit multiple data sets from the same switch or pedal. Able to expand with up to 4 external CC pedals and/or switches Flexible programming. Reliable and sturdy.
Quality
Extremely well made. Reliable and sturdy. I've had it on the road for 5 years and no problems.
Value
The MFC1010 is about $150 more expensive then other foot controllers with similar capabilities AND IT'S WORTH IT.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with Yamaha about anything.
The Wow Factor
It's a foot controller lol! I just want flexible programming and reliability. The MFC10 has both.

"Versatile and well built, just a nag to program"

I would have really appreciated a much better user interface to this pedal, or even a controller app. example: the Midi channel for sent messages is represented in hex. Not helpful. Stacking multiple commands in the 'Function" section is quite a challenge. It is very easy to brush the 'edit' button with a toe. That said, this pedal can do almost anything if you are able to slog through the poorly written manual to figure it out. I wish it had just come with a disk for PC with a config utility. It would have saved me a lot of time on the floor in front of this thing.
