i expect to be satisfied with this bass for years to come unless an electric issue presents itself,if i change anything about it period i'll put a sadowsky 18volt preamp in it.if this product were lost or stolen id replace it but im so impressed with it i would most likely invest in a pricier model such as the warwick thumb bolt on.it doesnt come with a case so i plan to invest in a new one for it.
Sound
this product sounds great with the active electronics and the tone shaping capabilities, keep in mind its not warwick thumb neck tru lol.
Features
its very simple to use the features are the corvette 2 band active preamp its easy to use to dial in tones on the fly, excellent gnarled metal knocks u can reach down with ur pinky while still playing and adjust
Ease of Use
very simple to use contols no more difficult then a fender jazz bass but not as simple as a fender p-bass but alot more powerful sound then either.
Quality
this thing seems to be built like a tank i expect it to last for ever unless an electric issue presents itself wich i doubt MEC electronics are very reliable
Value
for this price it cant be beat,it sounds and plays better then anything else in its price range im highly satisfied
Manufacturer Support
dont know what to say here havent had to call support.
The Wow Factor
this bass is very sleek and attractive in its minimalistic state it doesnt need a funky paint job to grab attention the wood grain is beautiful and smooth to the touch

"Happy to be playing bass again, happy that it's with this bass."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

I only rated this as low as 8 because a 9 or 10 to me would be a more expensive Warwick or a Music Man or maybe an Alembic or something else costing 4 or 5 times more than I paid. I will have this bass for as long as I continue to play. I'm already shopping for a nice 4 string but if I lost this bass I would buy another one. If I decide to get back in to playing out I will use this bass live, and I will feel good doing it.
Sound
Very nice, growls when I want it to and gets bright when I need that. It has all the warmth and punch I could expect from an instrument of this level and much more ... at the price point it's unbelievable, at twice the price it would be outstanding and at 3 times the price it would be an acceptable bass. I used to play (15 years ago) an American Standard J bass and this bass makes me smile. I would have no hesitation sitting in with my friends that are still playing out with this bass. I've just started playing again so I'm only playing through an Acoustic B20 at home but the Warwick sounds fantastic through it.
Features
I've been away from playing for quite a while and I've never owned a bass with active electronics before, I am very happy with the range of tone I can get with this instrument. The available controls are responsive and smooth and they react the way I expect them to.
Ease of Use
See features ... it is very easy to dial in the sound you're after on this bass. That being said this is my first 5 string and I've been away from playing for 15 years or so ... I'm sure the instrument is easy to use ... for someone better at using it than I am ;-)
Quality
Outstanding fit and finish. I expected quality when I decided on a Warwick and I got it on this bass.
Value
I can't say enough about the value. I probably feel more satisfied about this purchase in that respect than any other I have ever made.
Manufacturer Support
It was easy to register the purchase online with Warwick. I don't expect to have any other support needs.
The Wow Factor
I've always kind of wanted a Warwick, the natural, satin finish and sexy lines speak to me. I played Fender (had a J bass and a P bass at one time) before mainly because of all the guitar players and their Strats ... I think I thought I was 'supposed' to like Fender. I loved the Jazz bass and played out with it for years, but I believe I like this bass more overall.

"For the everyday Bass player. Bad Bottom Bass begins here."

If I were to lose it or brake it, Would definitely buy another right away.
Sound
I am an everyday Bass player. Amazing for the price. Incredible tone and feel. However had to get the neck setup as the strings were pretty high. After minor adjustments "great" Love the active circuit. The perfect everyday guitar. Honestly I prefer it to my Fender Jazz Bass.
Features
Give it a 7 here as it only comes with Allen keys. Then again were paying for the Git not the extras. A padded Warwick case would be a great accessory even if the price was adjusted accordingly.
Ease of Use
The controls are amazing. Can get amazing tones with this one. It is better than my 1972 Fender jazz for sure.
Quality
Starting from the tuners, knobs etc., these are made in Germany. The quality control is top notch. Flaws is wood grain are considered as character. |I would recommend changing the strings to RotoSound after setup and listen to this Bass sing. Cannot really knock anything down here.
Value
There isn't a better quality Bass out there for the price. After 30 years of professional playing and trying out the competition This is my opinion.
Manufacturer Support
Didn't have to as its too soon to tell. But did have a concern that Zzounds took immediate care of.
The Wow Factor
Thumbs up. Thats the shape. Just a lovely feel.

"High-quality German engineering and quality at a budget price!"

An awesome bass in this, or a higher price range.
Sound
Has that Warwick growl. It's active humbucking jazz pickups and preamp let it capture a very good Jazz bass, good P-bass, and pretty good Ray sounds. Very versatile instrument.
Features
String spacing is 16.5mm and adjustable. I thought might be tight, but I really like it. It ships with a very nice t-handled truss rod tool, allen wrenches for the bridge, Warwick straplocks, and setup tag. It doesn't come with a bag or case.
Ease of Use
The bass features standard volume, pickup selector, treble and bass controls. The active pickups and preamp offer a very wide range of sound choices. The bass has lots of ergonomic features, including easy-off rear cover and truss rod access door, and Warwick's Adjust-A-Nut III. This a great feature, allowing on-the-fly string height adjustments. Having this feature combined with a very good truss rod system and highly adjustable bridge make it easy to put the action exactly where you want it.
Quality
The product is very well made, with an nicely finished alder body and seven-piece maple neck, with a very thick rosewood fingerboard. It also features MEC pickups and Warwick tuners (the same ones used higher-level Warwicks). The only negative I've noticed is that the preamp is very sensitive to RF interference, but I put RF chokes on the red battery lead and rear pickup harness. This took care of it. There is also a bit of hiss if the volume and treble are both cranked. This hasn't been an issue, with the basses high output level, I don't get close to cranking either.
Value
Tremendous value, especially at the price I paid. I would definitely replace this one if it were damaged or stolen.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed to use it.

i expect to be satisfied with this bass until i can afford to fork over 2500$ for a warwick thumb or a sadowsky metro 5,even once i can afford the other im deffinately keeping this and playing it till it decentigrates,i bought this bass because im a large fan of the warwick growl its a sounds ive never encountered with another bass.what i like most about it is the comfort of the insturment itself, what i like the least is what i like least about all non-finished basses..the wood scratches
Sound
it deffinately has the signature warwick growl its very effective for slap as well has thunderous lows and piercing highs, very enjoyable tone.
Features
this bass came with straplocks, and all tools to set it up,very indepth instruction book explaining set up process if u ever decide to change it,also came with authentication paper work.
Ease of Use
very easy to use plug and play basically it has the use of the knobs clearly marked when u receive it new.
Quality
its a beautiful bass made of high quality wood but the wood is soft and will scratch easily especially if u anchor ur thumb so u can really dig in while playing.
Value
this bass is prices at 399$ its worth atleast 1000$ it plays and sounds as good as my american fender jazz bass.
Manufacturer Support
no idea havent head to deal with support on this product
The Wow Factor
ok it wants me to rate the sex appeal of this bass, its a gorgous insturment made of real solid beautiful wood the body shape is ergonmic and streamlined its also very light and comfortable.

"not what I expected"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
The sound was actually the best thing about this bass. Nothing to blow you away - compared to my German Warwick, but decent even tone.
Features
controls did what they were supposed to do.
Ease of Use
ditto
Quality
I researched the Rockbass line and heard they contracted with a new Chinese factory that had a great rep. I have seen some really nicely made and appointed import insruments, but this was not one of them. The alder body looked and felt like a piece of pine that could of used more sanding, the 'oiled' finish looked terrible, the overall attention to detail was seriously below par imo.
Value
even at it's discounted price, there are way better made import basses out there.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
compared to my German Warwick, I had to send this thing back. I was not expecting the quality and sound of a real Warwick.. but I still couldn't imagine gigging with it.
