I was scared to try this with my 2007 macbook pro, since I knew it would only operate at Firewire 400, not 800. Well, let me tell you that Firewire bandwidth is NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. You will use up all the DSP plug-ins before even using half the bandwidth at FW400. I had all 4 fatsos, some neve 1073's, Dreamverb, the fairchild, and precision bus comp, limiter, and maximizer (about 16 instances total) before I ran out of DSP. There was still Firewire Bandwidth left over. Got it?!! Also, I WAS live monitoring and playing synths in real time, with the DSP loaded at MAXIMUM, with almost undetectable latency in Logic (great!). Logic does all the delay compensations internally, and still it sounds great!! WOW!! I read somewhere that the satellite is only for mixing and mastering, not live monitoring....well let me tell you, I am running at FW400, half the recommended bandwidth of FW800, and I am live monitoring everything I play, record, even at max DSP load!! UAD is the best there is, HANDS DOWN, with no issues whatsoever!!
