"Great Pedal--a bit pricey and battery hungry--but worth it."

The same thing happened to me as a previous reviewer when I put a new battery in to test it; after about a week it made the strange noises when the battery power was insufficient (even though the power light stayed bright and steady rather than weakening as in other pedals). At first I thought I'd blown a capacitor or that perhaps the cable had shorted (or a tube problem was emerging). Turns out it was the battery and connecting the unit to a wall-wart power supply cleared up the issue; however, I got more battery life out of it than the user in the review posted on 5/17/10. I think I got between 5-8 hours of life from the battery, but I would not depend on a battery in gig without a backup battery or a power supply. Aside from that, you do not need to mix in much reverb from this unit to get good sounds. In fact, turning the knobs past 12 o clock will drench your sound (though this may be desirable for surf and moody stuff). The "spring" setting brightens and tightens your tone while the "modern" darkens it, but both tones are pleasant and useful IMHO. I got mine for around $80 with shipping from Amazon and I figure that the cost of a wall wart purchased locally will bring the total cost up to market. UPDATE: I have not had the opportunity to ask for product support from the manufacturer, but I did not want to underrate them. The pedal came with a little booklet with specs and sample settings, which actually sound pretty good. I'm not sure what "WOW" factor is but I gave five stars because I presumed that meant to imply how impressed I was with the product out of the box. I was impressed enough to wear out a battery playing through it--if that's any indication of "WOW."

"don't buy if you don't have a 9volt adapter"

Sound
it has 3 major flaws 1) battery life is 1/2 hr to an hour, can't get thru a gig with that 2)when battery dies the light to tell you it's on stays bright so you don't know the battery has run down 3)it sends all kind of weird noises thru the rest of your signal when the battery dies it sounds great when it works..
