I took me a couple of hours to understand what the pedal was actually doing. This pedal is nothing like a typical bass compressor which limits the peaks to smooth out the sound. This pedal is actually 3 compressors focused on 3 bass bands of low, mid and high. Depending on where the knob is set is what band is compressed and what frequency is enhanced. Turn the knob to the left and the bass band is enhanced and more prevalent. More to the right the higher bands are enhanced and more prevalent. All of this with no volume change it in the overall sound. It's really quite amazing. Now that I understand how it works, I couldn't imagine playing without it. If you buy one, forget everything you thought you knew about bass compressors. Far superior to anything out there in my opinion. Highly recommended.

I owned this pedal for 3 days, it colored my tone too much even with it turned all the way down. That being said it does what it says but your at its mercy without a separate level control, being digital I thought it made my tone sound lifeless and too processed, not organic at all especially at higher settings. It does however even out your strings but as I mentioned before, at the cost of your organic tone.
