I'm impressed with the sound and build quality of this snare.I turned it up and the crack is amazing with no ring at all. Reminds me of a bell brass without the overtones.

I picked up this drum a few years back after seeing Tama's own demo about it and being impressed on it's versatility of tone. It did not let me down. The hi carbon supersensitive wiresmake a big difference on any snare drum and I've put them on several snares both wood and metal because they just bring out the best in shell tone and crisp sensitivity! The hammering effect on the steel shell has to be heard to be appreciated. It has and amazing combination of steel, brass and maple tones all blended into one. It likes to live in the lower registers of 85-87 psi. Its both warm and very present at the same time. Only draw back is the throw-off is a bit cheap.
