"The Tama Imperialstar is an excellent drumset for starters and experienced players alike, with its mean looks and easy playabili"
I had my Imperialstar for 6+ years until I upgraded to a more expensive model, when I sold it, it was still in practically "Mint" condition. This set does not wear too easily.
Sound
By far my favorite in the Tama series, excellent sound, the bass has a deep semi-resonant sound perfect if you're looking for a heavy sound typically used for heavy metal, the toms are easily adjustable to fit your taste, and the snare has a medium-deep snap to it.
I love this drumset, definitely 10 out of 10!
Features
One downside is the mounting brackets, they tend to loosen their grip and lean on you after extended use, The floor toms usually (if not tuned correctly) tend to sound the same but all-in-all a well rounded, well worth your money set.
Ease of Use
You'll notice immediately when you start playing that the feel of the set itself is extremely comfortable, the design keeps the pieces close to you so you don't have to strain yourself when do a fast-paced drum roll.
Quality
This set would surely satisfy you for years to come. Very updated equipment and a reliable sturdy frame. I would recommend replacing the heads though. The standard heads are okay for a little while but the have that factory sound in which no one really likes, plus they tend to de-tune very quickly.
Value
This product is an extremely good deal for what you're paying.
Manufacturer Support
Tama is a very wide ranged and popular company, if part of this set breaks, comes off, or gets lost basically any music supply store in your area can order it for you for fairly cheap (I.E. New brackets $8)
The Wow Factor
The look of the Imperialstar is quite.... Mean, if you will. It gives the impression that its not just some run-of-the-mill drumset. And guaranteed, It's not.
