This guitar is a joy to play. Now, I had to do some set up after I received it. It needed a neck adjustment and an intonation tweak, but once that was done, all was well. The only nitpick I have about it now is the frets need a little smoothing out on the edges. But for the money, this baby is a hell of a bargain. The pickups have a great boldness and clarity, and the controls give you a huge array of tones. It's got a great look, and the butterscotch finish is fabulous. Looks great with the tinted neck, which really feels good to navigate. I say check this one out!

So... I was looking for a backup guitar for my Fender Jaguar. I have gone though Vintage guitars, Gretsch, Strats etc... I have spent way more and I have received way less! I still can't believe how this guitar is out of the box! Great neck, great pickups, just great all around! I had a '62 American RI Fender Jazzmaster. It had a shim under the neck from the factory. It was nice... but it wasn't $1600 nice. I replaced it with a '03 MIJ Jaguar. I still think the MIJ's are the best value in the Fender line. But, this Squier is a close second! With a few upgrades it will be on par with the MIJ, for a 1/3 of the cost. Don't get me wrong... as is it's great! The hardtail is a nice change from the mostly stable standard tremolo. The only complaints I have are esthetics. That and the high E is a little wide stanced but that's nothing I can't fix. I never EVER thought I would own a Squier. I have owned pedigree guitars of all kinds. As a touring, working musician, I want guitars that I can play and not see them depreciate before my eyes. Also... heaven forbid... if one is lost or stolen I'm not out a small fortune. I am still stuned by how nice this is for the cash. They could have charged more. I predict that this will be one of those odd sleepers that become more valuable over time. Pick one up while you can!

This Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Guitar Plays And Sounds Great. It's My Number One Go To Electric Guitar. The Two-Tone Sunburst Really Looks Smoking Hot. And With The Maple Fretboard My Fingers And Hands Just Slide Up And Down On It. The Two Duncan Designed Pickups Make It Sound Awesome. All I Did Was Make Some Adjustment To The Bridge Like Lower The Two Screws On It And I Got The Action Low As I Wanted It. Now It's A Joy To Play! Get This Guitar It's Worth It.

Great guitar on a workingman's budget. It offers something different than the standard Tele/Strat/LP sound. Squier is producing some fantastic guitars these days, and this is one of them. Being a traditionalist, I hesitated buying one because of the fixed Danelectro style tailpiece, but I finally broke down and I'm glad I did. It works well, and without the funkiness of the original trem.
