"Great Sound and Quality"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

High quality stereo monitor system, easy to set and delivers great sound!
Sound
I purchased this product for live music monitoring, and to allow for removal of a floor monitor ie less clutter on stage, and reducing the "devil" potential- feedback! Once you find the right pair of "seals" and install the earpieces correctly- well you will be amazed at the sound quality. Instrument and vocal quality is excellent. Again, you have to install them correctly, to get the bass and strong mid-range, but once you do they really do the job!
Features
Everything is of high quality, well built and very sturdy. Shure also provides you the rack mount brackets and screws etc, should that be an option. If your a pro, you will find this system to your liking. There is one negative aspect I must mention- that is the Lithium Ion battery option. The unit can run on 2 AA batteries- but the batteries have a life of 5.3 hours. If your on a long gig- you better have spares! But, the problem is that the Lithium Ion battery option ONLY extends your operation to 7 hours! Since the Lithium Ion battery costs $118.00 (ouch) and the charger is $50.00+ your going to have to shell out considerable "battery dough" to get started. It will pay off in the long run- but you get the idea! This compared to the Shure GLX D wireless systems looks bad! The Lithium Ion for the wireless mic costs $39.00 AND charges in the receiver! This is probably caused by a power requirement- but a longer Lithium Ion life would certainly have been appreciated.
Ease of Use
Once you read the short manual, setup is easy- BUT do read the manual as there are some important aspects (ie balanced 1/4 plugs needed)
Quality
As mentioned earlier this is a quality built unit, and should last a long time- EXCEPT FOR THE DAMN BATTERIES!
Value
Well worth the price I paid.
Manufacturer Support
Have been dealing with Shure since the 70's- never a problem!
The Wow Factor
The removal of an additional speaker, the reduction of potential feedback, and the freedom to move without sound drop out is great.

"Great IEM System"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

The receiver of this unit is built like a tank and transmits a fairly low amount of noise to signal. The audio reproduction is on point with the headphone jack on my mixing desk. The included headphones are good. Maybe a little bright but nothing a minor eq adjustment on your monitor bus won't fix. They carry bass guitar and kick drum well. I put them to the audio test at a show and mixed my ears like I would have FOH only I boosted my vocals and guitar just a tad over what they would be in the full mix. I had no issues and actually one of the most pleasant monitoring experiences I've had in a very long time. I switched to IEM a couple years ago with a cheap system. The cheap systems won't carry the bass on the receiving end no matter the headphones used. This system sounds fantastic and has amazing range for a system under $1000. Some reviewers complain about battery life but I didn't experience any issues with that. I got 4 hours out of a set of copper tops. I replace my batteries in all my wireless gear before a show so I don't care if the batteries only last one show. The rackmount kit was quick and easy to install and seems very sturdy. I experienced zero dropouts or RF noises for 4 hours in a busy venue with WiFi and cell phones all over the place and 2 guitar wireless units on stage. Effective range in testing at home is more than 100 yards. It is 300' from my front door to the end of my property and the signal was still strong even with the transmitter inside the house.

"Worth the money"

I would consider myself to still be new into the game of IEM systems. I have used IEMs for about 2 and a half years now. Before I bought the PSM 300 system, I had a CAD system(very basic). And I’ll tell you now this upgrade was well worth it. The receiver itself is incredible quality. You can tell by holding it in your hand you have a great product. The system is very easy to install into a rack and very easy to setup. The sync and scan feature is incredible, very fast, and extremely accurate. I have hear ZERO “gremlin” noise out of the receiver. The sound itself is crisp and clean and the lows are very powerful. I use a 3 driver Weston IEM. Don’t hold back due to the price, I plan for this to last for over 10 years! I’d don’t give it 5 stars because I do wish the battery life was longer and the rechargeable battery is separate and pricey.

"Good if used as designed"

I purchased this unit to use for live sound. This was my first experience with a IEM. I was not at all happy in the beginning. First mistake I made was mounting the receiver in The same rack with all my other wireless mics. Needless to say no matter how many times I scanned either my Mics Or my in ears cut out constantly. Shure tells you not to do this but I did it anyway and trust me he can’t do it. Once I got my ears receiver out of my rack and off to the side of the stage in another rack I have had no issues The second problem was I spent money buying three sets of earbuds trying to get some low end in my ears. A lot of money! I purchased the westone Pro 20s as well as the shure 535s. I stumbled across a video on YouTube of a guy talking about having the same miss you and switching to triple flange Shute tips. There was a set that came with my 535s so I tried them. Bingo! $1000 later I have killer sound on all the earbuds and by the way the triple flange tips or about nine dollars for three pair. Now the kick drum actually sounds like a kick drum and the base is nice and full. Also the thin Tinny sound is gone. Call me a rookie I guess because that’s what I was. Now I have concert sound in my ears and I must say that the 215‘s that come with this unit sound unbelievable for a single driver. If you don’t already know, the more drivers there are the better clarity you will have and the more low end you will have. I am now extremely pleased with all my purchases From zZounds. Hope this helps other rookies like me to IEMs.
