I bought this unit to use on wedding ceremony gigs. Primarily for the judge/officiant, but also the groom if requested. I currently own several wireless handheld units in the SLX series. in comparison, I really wasn't sure what to expect performance wise as I assumed these are a step down in quality from my SLX units. From the very first time I used the BLX unit, any doubts i had we're put to rest. These units work Great! The range is excellent and the audio is very clear. The CVL mic is just a $40 mic, but it gets the job done! I have a DBX 31 band on the mixer output to ring out a few undesired frequencies. For speech use, some EQ tweaking is a common thing. I would highly recommend changing the channels from the stock A1 and A2 setting. For whatever reason, Doing this gives you a higher & hotter gain signal. Other than that..... These units work really well. I'm very pleased with the purchase, And I now have faith in Shure's lesser expensive products. i have purchased several pieces of gear from zzounds and their support and service is excellent! -Steve

In a nutshell, these are made very poorly. I bought this item through ZZSounds. Every time a groom and officiant are in the middle of a wedding i cringe because I am not sure if they are going to go silent or go in and out. I will not be buying another set of these. Being a Shure product I really expected more.

I really like this set as far as the receiver goes - nice to have a dual set up in one box. The transmitters are cheap, but effective and easy to set up with the receiver. No mute function, but hey it's INEXPENSIVE. The only thing I don't like - and this has nothing to do with quality is that I WANTED two of the headset mics instead of two lavaliers... had to buy separate. oh well
