Great sound -- classic quack and pop!
Sound
I play many kinds of music, from rock to blues to jazz. I play a Fender Strat, and installed a ssl-6 in the bridge, a reverse-wound ssl-6 in the middle, and a vintage ssl-2 in the neck. Wow! The ssl-6's are overwound so they can really put out some classic "Strat" sound, but still clean up nicely when you back off the volume. I love the "quack" and mid-range "pop" that these pickups give you (a la Rory Gallagher). I play through a Marshall amp, and this combination of pickups really works well together. I decided to put a second ssl-6 in the middle (as opposed to another ssl-2) primarily because reverse-wound pickups have a tendency to lose some of their power, and the exra coil windings in the ssl-6 makes up for this quite well.
Features
Standard single coil. Great sound, but is sometime suseptable to annoying 60-cycle hum.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. I spent some time adjusting the pickup height to get just the right sound and volume that works well when you go from one position to the other with the 5-way switch.
Quality
Seymour Duncan pickups are very well made. Excellent quality for a reasonable price.
Value
Again, excellent quality for the money.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed any.
The Wow Factor
When I play these pickups, I sense that somewhere, Rory Gallagher is smiling!

"Great value."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It's great, the trebly sound is gone and the sound is more punchy and fat but it has still the Strat sound, I appreciate that. It's better for soloing than most humbuckers I 've played. You can blay both Blues and Metal with this, you will get a Blackmore kind of sound.
Features
I don't know what to say about a pickups features. It's damn good and that's enough.
Ease of Use
It's easier to get a singing tone with this a a stock pickup. Absolutely.
Quality
It workks well, nothing has gone wrong.
Value
I can't see why it is so cheap. But it could be a better price, at least where I come from, Swerden. Everything is a little cheaper here than in USA, but that 's ok.
Manufacturer Support
The best support is that you don't need any.
The Wow Factor
I really want it.

"Excellent Bridge Pickup"

This is a perfectly balanced bridge pickup for strat. It has a more full tone while still retaining the single coil character. Excellent clarity and definition with the extra oomph needed. Still works well and very balanced with Vintage single coils. I'm using Seymour Duncan SSL2's in the mid and neck and the combination is perfectly calibrated.

"The Strat Bridge Solution"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

My original Fender 57/62 bridge pickup sounded way too thin and trebly. Glad I pulled the trigger on the SSL-6! Fantastic alternative to the SD Little ‘59. It pairs very nicely with vintage output pups and stock 250k pots. It doesn’t change the look of your Strat and the in-between sound is glorious. Perfect for getting a thicker, richer sound from the bridge without the hassle of everything an HSS entails.
