"If you're considering buying a DJ CD player, reconsider."

After having this for a year and a half, I can't even think about going back. It totally changed how I DJ.
Sound
Transparent audio. If you have good source files, it's impossible to tell it from vinyl.
Features
The only thing I wish it had is a way to record mixes within the program itself. MIDI support and a sampler would be nice but that's not really within the scope of the product.
Ease of Use
Takes a few minutes for setup (make sure you do the phono calibration in the manual), after that it's really intuitive. Read the manual, there are a lot of really convenient shortcut keys that aren't that obvious (but there are on-screen buttons you can click on if you don't want to read it).
Quality
Totally solid.
Value
The stanton setup does a little bit more for the same money, but SSL is much more solid and responsive.
Manufacturer Support
Free email support that gets back to you within 24 hours. Free upgrades to the software as long as the hardware is supported.
The Wow Factor
Other DJs wish they had this... I only have to carry 2 records and a laptop with me to shows.

"The best DVS out there!!"

I have found my solution, no need to look elsewhere.
Sound
Serato Scratch Live is the industry standard when it comes to DVS, it is that way for a reason. I have used Scratch Live for about 4 years and never had a single crash. I gave the sound a 9 only because the SL3 is a better sounding interface, but you will be good with the SL1.
Features
It has all the featured I need, and all the features any DJ would need. With the newer versions of Scratch Live, new features such as effects have been added.
Ease of Use
The set up is super easy, its a product that just works straight out of the box!! The interface is the best looking interface of any DVS, easy to read layout!!
Value
The best investment I ever made!!
Manufacturer Support
You can go to serato.com and pretty much find any answer you are looking for, or you can ask a question and get an answer quickly!
The Wow Factor
The best looking DVS out there, looks professional and is professional.

"RAIN RAIN - Your product is getting old and going down the drain."

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I got this about 2 months ago and now I am switching anyone want to buy it?
Sound
The sound is good. The only thing is drop outs. But since this is about the sound you get what you get in your sound library on your computer. Not really the interfaces problem. Unless they added some digital inputs and outputs. Lets get out of the RCA conections world.
Features
The GUI is nice and clean but what you see is what you get. Not many cue points or loops. No Midi control that really blows. Only can play certain audio files. Sometimes that gets to be a pain. Nothing that flashy. Old school usb teck ( they should spend some money for firewire. Mic input is 1/4" could be xlr. Wires included are not the best. No ways to customize the interface. The vynal code is only 1khz which is now crap compared to the new products out there. Well thats enoghf for now go compare it with some others not just because its popular. Go check out ones with better specs and try them for yourself you will feel and see a big difference. Sorry serato!
Ease of Use
That is all it got. If you only like a few features.
Quality
Solid box. Good program i guess. Its not the worst one i seen.
Value
Bad. You can get better stuff now that cost less or about the same. I am pissed I got this first.
Manufacturer Support
They were not that good about anything.
The Wow Factor
THe GUI looks good! Thats it!

I like the one I have, but will look to upgrade to the SL3.
Sound
The sound is great.
Features
The features are pretty good. Only thing lacking was the ability to record your sets. That was taken care of in the new version.
Ease of Use
Easy,,,, Right out of the box its easy to set up. The included manual walks you through the whole process.
Quality
The product is well made. Havent had any problems so far.
Value
Yes. Its well worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
I havent had to deal with them. They do have plenty of resources to have any questions answered though. The forum is great.
The Wow Factor
Very nice looking unit. Though its not seen by others. Its tucked away in my dj set up.

"AWESOME!"

Read above again if you have any questions.
Sound
the sound is excellent. when i use my vinyl controllers, it sounds better than my real vinyl.
Features
After you get used to the shortcuts and hot keys, you don't even have to touch your tables unless you really want to. when you build the overviews, it gives you the bpm of the song, so mixing is easy. plus it has a beat offset display that lets you see which side is drifting. As far as effects, who needs them!(that's what you have a good mixer for, right?)
Ease of Use
i was using this thing like a pro in like, a day! you can put up to 9 cue points that automatically save. I think like 5 loops, or you can use the autoloop and jump between lengths for some extra remixing on the fly.
Quality
Play on it and that's all you need to do.
Value
Well worth the money considering how much i used to spend on vinyl.
Manufacturer Support
always a 10 if i haven't had to use it
The Wow Factor
I have it, I love it, and I don't see myself changing my mind.
