I really wanted this amp to work out for me.I presently gig with a Marshall TSL 100 head with a 2 12 cabinet which I love and constantly get great feedback from fellow musicians concerning my tone.I though the JMD was my ticket to scale down and simplify my rig.Bulit in effects, mutiple presets, loads of amp simulations, small and light weight, etc. was what I was after and hoped this was it.I honestly gave this amp a chance BUT when I A/B ed it against my Marshall TSL and my Blackstar it came up short for me personally.Although I though it seemed a high quality build, was relatively easy to use,had built in effects which were adequate, and it as fairly lightweigh,t it sorely lacked in "tone" for what I was looking for.The tone seemed thin and really lacked a punchy mid and tight low end.I bailed on the presets and just manually tried to dial something in but could never get to what I personally was after.I thought the cleans were pretty good but the crunch tones didn't even get close to my TSL or Blackstar.I sent it back after trying for a few days to dial it in.For now I am sticking with my TSL .I really wish Marshall could come up with an all tube small lightweight combo with cabinet simulation around 15 watts that had 3- channels (They can even share the eq on the crunch and lead channels ) and basic built in effects were foot switchable.I presently use the cab sim on the TSL and it works very well for me. For now I guess I will stick with my TSL and Blackstar.
