This throne is about as rock solid as you can get for the price. I'm not a huge fan of motorcycle style seats because I can never seem to get centered on them as I would like. The Mapex throne has just the right amount of cushioning for me so that my butt doesn't go into suspended animation, but firm enough so that I don't feel like I am on a cruise ship. The base is extremely sturdy and I like the plastic feet. Great buy.... thanks Mapex!!!

I recently purchased two of these units; one for our drummer and one for our keyboardist at church. Not being a drummer, I was quite surprised seeing prices well over hundred dollars for "thrones". But as worship leader for church, I wanted to get rid of the wooden bar stools our drummer and keyboardist had borrowed from the kitchen : ) and replace them with more professional seating arrangements. With a small budget and a heads up from our drummer, I decided to get two of these. I am very pleased with the quality of these items; they are heavy gauge metal with quality padding for the seat. My drummer and keyboardist are also happy! Plus, they look great on stage.
