this will be my 5th drum kit and most likely my last.
unless something happens to it and has to be replaced or if i should get lucky and win or get another kit free.
Sound
straight out of the box this kit has an awesome sound.
the tone rings added helped reduce the echos you get without.
i have not tuned the kit yet as i like the sounds.
the bass drum has a wonderful power sound.
the snare is the only drum in the kit which i had to tune to the sound preferred.
very compatible with the type of music i play.
as with any drum kit, changing heads can make a difference in sound and sound quality.
Features
i was impressed with the fact that the tom rack mount for the bass drum
not only mounted two toms, but in addition had a clamp to add a cymbal stand or other component.
Ease of Use
Easy to get sounds wanted. Actually as I said, i like the sound on the toms straight out of the box. The snare tuned easily to the sound i wanted.
Quality
it's Ludwig, maun
what else needs to be said
Value
i have had a Ludwig Classic kit years ago.
i just gave my semi-pro kit to my church.
I would say the basic difference in this kit an the above is that it is birch instead of maple. Still great sound.
Quality is also as good as the kits above.
very good value for the bucks.
again, it's Ludwig.
Manufacturer Support
have not had to deal with Lugwig yet on any issues
The Wow Factor
i got the Deep Brown kit.
let me say, the pictures do not do justice to the color of this kit.
high gloss
chrome lugs and rims.
beautiful kit

"Ludwig Power Element"
After 22 years with my Tama Swingstar set I finally broke down and bought a new set.Now don't get me wrong I kept this set for 22 years because it ROCKED, it had the real big toms very deep and powerful. But I thought I needed to upgrade to a new up to date set. I got a great deal on the set and settled on the Gray Fade into Black, black lugs...Very tough looking. I have been plaing drums for over 40 years and I fell in love all over again with this Power Element Set...After changing the heads to evans G2 heads on all the toms and a evans reverse dot coated head on the snare, I also replaced the bass drum head with evans head with the built in damper ring. This set sounds outrageous live !! I always get compliments on the sound and the look.I would recommend this set to anyone !!!
Musical Background:
I have been playing the drums for 48 years
Musical Style:
Classic Rock, Love the 60's & 70's music, I also love funk and Motown, and Jazz

"Great Drum Set !!!"

This will be my last set unless i become a huge rockstar..lol not likely
Sound
The drums sound great !!! I have played all sorts of kits from very high end to low end and the birch Ludwigs hold there own with the best. Like all drums, it comes down to good heads and proper tuning to get the best sound. I am however replacing the snare, wich in my opinion is the only week point of the kit, but with new heads and snare wires it is ok (just not the sound i am looking for). The bass drum is a cannon when you lay into it, i added a kick port to the stock resonant head and it eliminated the need for pillows or blankets while adding more low end tone and the toms sound fantastic.
Features
Great mounting hardware, also very easy to adjust and keep in place with the memory locks,.like Ludwigs description it has many of the same features as their most exspensive kits minus diecast hoops, but i am not aware of any set in this price range with diecast hoops.
Ease of Use
Its a drum set, hit it, it makes sound. doesnt get much easier than that.
Quality
Cannot say enough about how happy I am with the sound, sturdiness and look of this set. like one of the previous people said who rated this, the picture DOES NOT do it justice. the finish is amazing on the deep brown set and the chrome is, for the lack of a better word, Awesome. This will likely be the last set i buy , i think after 5 or 6 sets i am finally happy !!
Value
Great value for the money, Spending a little less on this shell kit leaves room to get high end cymbals to complete a great drum set .
Manufacturer Support
Have not needed it on this set .
The Wow Factor
