I am satisfied overall with this ukulele. It is my first and unlike my guitars, I plan on keeping this one for a while. If it were to get damaged/lost/stolen I would probably order the same one for now. I have replaced guitars after a year but this ukulele stay in my collection for years to come.
Sound
This ukulele although small is able to project well for its concert body size. I have played other ukuleles in stores and I found this one to be the best in its price range. You can't go wrong with Aquila strings!
Features
This ukulele looks and feels great! With mother of pearl inlays, gold tuners, and the koa wood, it looks like a high end ukulele! It also came with a soft travelling case and a clip on tuner. The case is useful but does not offer much protection. I have tried other clip on tuners and I find this one somewhat inaccurate.
Ease of Use
There is a simple instruction booklet with a few songs and tabs so you can play it right out of the box. I think this ukulele will sound better over time!
Quality
When I first recieved this ukulele, the first thing I check was the finish and neck. There was nothing wrong with the overall structure but there were a few scratches on the gold tuners, the wood on the headstock was not finished properly. The wood around the area of the headstock meets the neck was not cut properly. You can see a little gap between the wood and the plastic that starts the fretboard. None of this affects the playability of the instrument.
Value
Includes a concert sized ukulele, a clip on tuner and a gig bag. I have done research and played other ukuleles in stores and this Lanikai concert package is top quality for it's price!
The Wow Factor
With mother of pearl inlays, gold tuners, koa wood, it looks like a high end ukulele! This thing is beautiful!I get asked all the time where I got it! Trust me. It's hot!

"Nice instrument, included tuner not so great"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm a total novice where string instruments are concerned. Learning how to tune and fret the instrument. It's a nice Ukulele, and the concert size is just right for my fingers, yet still the traditional tuning and key of the soprano. The included tuner was pretty flaky and I ended up buying a snark which was inexpensive, and much more responsive and easier to use. So don't buy this package for the tuner, but the price is worth it just for the beautiful instrument.
