"Unlocking its true potential requires work, but its well worth it !!"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I have found a few "ranges" of superb sound that is extremly close to that found in professionl quality beats.
Sound
Regardless of its hardware limitations, this thing has a seemingly infinite sea of sounds that require incatrate computer control to unlock (software sequencer).
Features
It could really use more levels of distortion (like virus) and an LFO
Quality
The knobs seem pretty standard and are solid. But still has an overall feel of low qualityness.
Value
200 would seem better fit
Manufacturer Support
Tried forever to get sysex specs... had to reverse engineer w/ midiox

"waste of money, waste of time"
Sound
the sound is pretty bad. I doesn't sound like a real analog synth...it sounds like a cheap casio keyboard sent through some delay and distortion and then looped
Features
it actually has a lot of features, but good luck figuring them out. Korg boasts you can plug your guitar or CD player through its effects, but that "feature" is a complete joke. You can do a bunch of stuff via MIDI, the best of which is hooking it up to other electribes or any MIDI keyboard. You can also up/download new patches via the internet, etc, etc.
Quality
I don't know what's inside (because it sounds terrible), but externally the unit is solid and could probably take a few knocks
Value
buying a new one of these would be a huge waste of money.
