My wife just bought this bass for me. I've been playing it for about a half an hour, and it's just amazing. The best tone from a bass that I've ever heard. Perfect for my style of playing. It's positively gorgeous, as well. It's darker than the pictures would make it seem, but that is probably just a variation each instrument, but it doesn't detract at all form it's beauty. I just did a bit of Roundabout on it, and it was perfect for that, without any adjustments. Also played a bit of "The Creature" by Bill Anderson's Giants of Colossus, and it was right in the sweet spot. Heavy, precise, with a whole lot of twang that I like in a bass guitar. I would recommend this to any professional bassist, as well as anyone not professional who's looking for something more.

"Good playing bass"
I'm a guitar player that switched to bass 20 years ago. I've missed the ability to play full chords and solo in a range that can be easily heard. I tune this bass an octave lover than guitar with the same string relationships. Low E, not B. This bass allows me to do that with no set up issues. If youre coming from a 4 string this will be a wide neck, but 5 string users will adust. It's well balanced and finely finished. LONG REACH TO 1ST FRET ON LOWEST STRING, which is F for me, but I can get it. The fan fret design probably helps to keep string tension equal. I have a Novax (Ralph Novak invented the fret system) so I'm okay with it.

Overall i love the bass but there were some concerning issues with the condition I received it. Good points the fretboard feels great and it's lightweight.
Sound
I first picked this bass up and tried it out in the music store and i had to have it so i go it a couple weeks ago. It has a terrible buzz to it really couldn't play it without a set up first, and I'm talking extreme setup. Im no professional when it comes to that because it still has a buzz. Pick up nut was extremely loose it fell off in my hand
