Ibanez AVM10 Artwood Vintage Acoustic Guitar

Thermo-Aged for a louder, fuller sound and designed with vintage aesthetics in mind, the Ibanez AVM10 sounds and feels older that it is -- in a good way.

I've been playing for about 20 years now and have some really nice acoustics, but I wanted to try a "torrefied" model and didn't care to spend loads of money. This Ibanez was the best option with the top and back both being torrefied. So I decided to give it a try and if I didn't care for it, it's not like I'll be heading to the poor house. I get the guitar delivered in two days as zZounds has always done in the past. Excellent service from this company I may add. Anyhow, I opened the box and noticed how well this guitar is put together. I mean it's as nice looking as my Taylor and Breedlove models. It's very light too. It's actually a beautiful guitar with bookmatched top and back. I noticed zero imperfections. I noticed a slight belly at the bottom of the bridge, but didn't think anything of it at first, but as I tuned the guitar to standard tuning the bulge grew to an unacceptable amount. The bulge measured 3/8" on both sides. 3/4" total! This was definitely an issue. I expect some belly on a nicely built solid top, but this was extreme for being new. But the sound was absolutely wonderful. I was totally amazed at what this torrefied model was capable of. My 1978 Guild D50 doesn't sound as good as this Ibanez. Lots of projection. Crystal clear highs, low bass and great mid range. Both strumming and finger picking sounded exception. I was in love with this guitar from the first strum and I contemplated keeping it with the high belly, but decided it's best to return for exchange. zZounds customer service was very easy to work with and shipped a new guitar out the next day. Again, two days later I received the guitar. It was just as nice as the first one and sounded just as amazing. An ever so slight belly (expected). The action was a tad bit higher on this one, so I sanded down the saddle about 1/16" and now the action is perfect. Frets are perfect. Neck is straight. I am very pleased with this purchase. I decided to install a LR Baggs M1 and oh what a nice sounding piece this is. Definitely a keeper. I recommend this Ibanez AVM10. It's not a huge investment, but it's a superior looking and playing acoustic that I think anyone would be happy with.

Definitely worth the price. A martin or Taylor with a torrefied top would cost 4 times the amount.
