I got mine last week, and I must say that I am completely, undeniably impress. I wonder how something so powerful be so easy to use. This will definitely be my go to gig amp. zZounds is truly top notched, as far as customer service is concerned.

"Great little amp!"

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is my first review of a product, but I felt it was worth it. I enjoy this amp. Small, compact, light weight, and has alot of punch. I went from a 78lb Peavy TNT 115. The lightweight 28lbs is a blessing. Yet with the DI and the fact it's a class D amp, I'm not sacrificing much. As with anything small I'm guessing I will have to watch how hard it is pushed, but so far it's not been nesessary.
Sound
Nice warm sound. Handles the low B on my 5 string. No need to push the volume.
Features
Built in DI is great. Otherwise the rest is self explanatory.
Ease of Use
Super easy. The tech end is my weakness,so this amp makes it simple and effective for my needs.
Quality
So far so good. And it's size and weight make it real handy. Small enough to be put up front as a monitor, yet still delivers enough power and volume.
Value
Little pricey but you do get what you pay for.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use as of yet.
The Wow Factor
Was completely shocked at the volume. Yet still produces a good solid sound. Have not used it in any large capacity as of yet, but with the DI should not be a problem.

"Surprise find!"

I bought this amp with the understanding after years of playing that I might not like this amp because of its size. I’ve never been a big fan of combos. I’ve always used stacks and carried around heavy cabs and heads thinking bigger was better, but I have been schooled. This thing is a miniature monster! Set the bass and shape at 2 o’clock with the treble at 12 o’clock and the mids at 2 o’clock, and I have the perfect music man sound out of my bass. This surprised me tremendously. There is a plethora of sounds that can come from this little beast such as a smooth jazz sound to a growl of a p bass. I was shocked to say the least! Don’t let the size and weight of this amp fool you. After 34 years of playing I have to say technology has come a long way. I LOVE THIS AMP. This is NOT the Hartke amps I’ve played in the past. This is a whole new animal on steroids with a vicious bite! The twelve inch speaker is very articulate. For an amp this size, it doesn’t give up a thing in the way of bass and mids. This thing will cut you in half. Believe that! Well constructed, easy to use with the three band eq, and the shape circuitry is simply off the chains. Set the eq to suit you then sweep the shape knob until you have found the golden tone and let your bass do the rest! I have to say after years and I mean years of going though amps this one has shocked me. I am definitely sold on this Hartke amp. We will see how she holds up but with my years of experience with Hartke, I’m betting it won’t be a problem. If you are a working musician and are looking to save your back, trust me this amp at 28 lbs. is a sweet relief after 6 hours of setting up and playing. Don’t let the size fool you. This is a class act amp with power for the pros to the weekend warriors and you won’t wreck your bank account nor your back. Win win I say. Do yourself a favor and try it out and with the fast shipping (I got mine in one day) get it from zZounds!

"Nice little amp"

It’s loud enough to jam with a drummer and guitar player. The sound is pretty versatile for 4 knobs. The shape knob changes the whole character of the amp. It feels rugged yet is very light and compact. It gets a clean sound but doesn’t have any useable distortion so no Motörhead covers with this one. It doesn’t have a tweeter but the paper/aluminum hybrid cone does better with highs than a solid paper cone. Overall I chose this for the bang for the buck and after a week with it I’m happy with my decision.

"Hartke KB12 Combo"

For any price, it's tough to beat a Hartke. As far as clarity, trueness or quality of tone, amount of headroom, and build or internal joinery of the speaker cabinet, Hartke is and has always been top of the line. I am totally confident with my purchase.. The D.I. out is pre-EQ, pre-Volume, and it adds 6 db's to an input level.!!! So the KB12 works great as a stage monitor with an XLR out to a mixer/PA, as it also is small enough to use at home for practice or recording. There is also a 1/4" out on the back of the amp for an 8ohm output to an external speaker or optional post-EQ output. This will turn off the internal speaker. There is no effects loop on this model. I can honestly say that I have never needed one anyway. I like using pedals, but my pedalboard runs thru the input jack with no worries of ever clipping. btw my Pedaltrain Classic Jr. fits easily on top of this amp., which is convenient for my old back, with less bending over to read/adjust my pedals' settings. Also, the "Shape" feature is extremely helpful in finding the proper mid-range curve for your acoustical surroundings. There is always that "one" low frequency that is louder than the rest and this is where the "Shape" feature helps you locate it and even out that peak in your sound. Finally, this little guy gets plenty loud. Unless you want to start a 5 piece electric band and your competing with 2-4x12 cabs, a singer and a triggered set of drums, you will never have to worry about 250 rms (500) max watts, in a class D, solid state amp being loud enough. Typically, most venues offer PA support for most gigging situations. So, in my opinion, whether you want a 12' or 15" combo amp is merely preference. These are only opinions based on my experiences with this product, and not meant to be construed as fact, neither have I been compensated in any way for my review.

Thunderous sound with my Ibanez GSR 5 string bass. Rattles the windows and everything else including my ceiling. Shaping control is great once I figured it out. Simply plug and play. Then sit back and wait for the cops to show up with a noise complaint from 2 miles away. :) Added note that zZounds was very helpful when the shipper caused and issue.

I purchased this amp because I needed something light and loud enough for a medium-size room. The amp sounds great except for the loud fan which I find distracting. I put three stars for manufacturer support because I was unable to leave it blank.

This amp had every feature I was looking for - powerful, great tone, lightweight, and small. What kills it for me is the cooling fan which is distracting loud. In every other way the amp is perfect. I'm not in a position to return it, so I'm going to have to live with it.
