I don't comprehend the way Gibson does things sometimes but it seems with their Studio, Junior and Special lines that all range in the $750.00 to $1000.00 price bracket, they make an excellent product. The instruments that I have received from these lines exceed their much more expensive counterparts from the vaunted Custom Historic Division. The resonance and tone of this guitar is absolutely amazing. The parts used are top notch. The "chrome white button tuners" are actual Klusons, not the Gibson Deluxe tuners which eventually break down and are difficult to replace one at a time. The baked maple fretboard is very nicely done and a good alternative to rosewood. Trust me, I would have preferred rosewood but after the unnecessary raid that was conducted on Gibson, it turns out that these baked maple fretboards are a pretty good alternative to the lost product as a result of executive branch overreaching. Bottom line, this guitar is worth every penny. Mine is the gloss yellow finished model and I am as happy as I can be with it. I have been playing for twenty years and without getting into the long story of my professional experience, suffice to say that I know quality when I see it and I found absolutely nothing wrong with this instrument. It rings, it plays like butter and it can handle any type of music one would want to play with it. A true classic, get one before Gibson stops making them again.

Ordered this guitar from ZZounds on Wednesday night, received it Friday AM! The guitar was poorly packed(by Gibson) and after unboxing found two small dents in the top edge. It was shipped in a gig bag but not secured in the box so the damage could have been during shipping. Otherwise the guitar was fine. I called ZZounds- they immediately emailed a return shipping label and sent a replacement as soon as I got it in the mail. The replacement was damaged in exactly the same area. This one looked like it had been placed in the gig bag before the paint was completely dry. I gave up and returned this one as well. This is a nice guitar and I would recommend it if you have the patience to wait for a good one. The p90's are awesome! ZZounds's customer service is outstanding but Gibson's quality control is dismal. Buy one hands-on or switch to a different brand.
