"This machine is so user friendly who needs a audio recording studio (Professional)?"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Excellent growth potential, I love it!
Sound
I have experience in multi track recording and find that the VF 80 w/ cdrw, is one of the easiest, user friendly, common sense type of tool on the market. It combines alot of the basic theory in audio recording (bouncing, ping pong etc. )with the modern day (paste an copy, midi format, wave format). It has surprising control on each track, and gives the audio supreme sound and quality. I have enjoyed mine thus far, I've had it for one month. Easy to operate, and moderately priced! Love It
Features
The most useful features are the easy panning and editing of tracks especially the reverb, and the ability to apply each track with minimal to maximum amount of sound per designated channel as needed.
Quality
It has a modern, technical look and is user friendly.
Value
Yes, maybe more.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to deal with anyone yet!
The Wow Factor

My only reservation is perhaps I should have gone for the 16 track of the VF160. But still the VF80 should keep me happy for many years.
Sound
Clean sound with no clicks, pops, noise, artifacts -- just the music.
Features
This machine is loaded with features that I keep discovering as I go along. The fader recall is great for going back to a mix and not having to remember where all the faders were set. This tells you EXACTLY where they were. I like the effects as well. There is a large range, but the trick is not to overuse them.
Quality
Fit and finish are excellent. This unit has a very solid feel that others in the range just don't have. Some multi-trackers feel like toys next to the Fostex. This unit is designed with sound quality first in mind. Edits, cuts, pastes, erasures, punch in/out, etc. are all accomplished with NO glitches, pops, clicks whatever. The burner takes its time, but the results are always flawless. Always.
Value
This or the VF160 are tremendous values. They feel like they'd last forever...
Manufacturer Support
Initially I called Fostex to ask a question on something unclear in the manual and they were friendly and very helpful.
The Wow Factor
I love the no nonsense styling that looks more professional, less like a playtoy.

Sound
Fine, clean sound. Edits, cuts and pastes, punchin/out, all accomplished with NO clicks or artifacts. Great recordings can be made and mastered.
Features
I am not big into effects, but I like the range on the Fostex. Once you get the hang of using them properly they're excellent. The manual is not well written... So you have to learn by doing.
Quality
Built like a tank. Feels like it will last forever. The faders have a great feel.
Manufacturer Support
I've only had to call for a few questions and have had no problems, but others don't feel tech support is good. Calling is better than emailing.

"Top quality multi-track digital recording for under $1000."

The compact size makes it great for on-site recording.
Sound
Very clean, low-noise recording. Phantom power not powerful enough for my Shure mic - bought an ART tube preamp and the combination is excellent. My new Rode NT1000 also has a hot enough output (16mV) to use without the pre but the pre adds warmth.
Features
Lots of flxibility to tailor recorded sound, but its difficult not impossible to hear what the final sound w/ effects) will be while your recording. The insert-loop mode allows this but it has more limited effects.
Quality
Much better quality than other brands in this price range - for example Boss seems very flimsy compared to Fostex. Need to press buttons a bit hard to get them work at times.
Value
Can't do better for the price for my purposes. I don't need guitar modeling though.
