"Great deal - but buy a gig bag and some lessons if you are a beginner."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I am just a beginner but to me the thing sounds great. I ordered a Digitech Bass Effects Pedal to run with my Peavey amp. The bass just sounds great on it's own to, but I really did damage to my fingers with as much as I was playing around with that effects pedal. The amp that comes with the bass is a great practice amp. Sounds pretty decent. I am replacing the strings with some Ernie Balls. I am giving it a '10' because again, I am a beginner. I think I will be able to judge better when I get some experience and exposure under me.
Features
I am giving it a 9 because the gig bag kind of sucks and it didn't come with lessons. This thing is beautiful but that gig bag could not be depended on to protect it very well. Will get something a bit more protective when I start moving it around more. I also ordered some bass lessons to get a head start on the lessons I am enrolled in at the University in the town where I live.
Ease of Use
On it's own the thing sounds good to me. The Progressive knob creates a dirtier tone. There is a definite learning curve because it didn't come with lessons. If it's going to advertise itself as a beginners set, it should come with some intro lessons at least. However, it is a really good deal at the pricepoint it is set at and you can get really good lessons separate with the money you save (which is what I did)
Quality
Gorgeous body - flawless paint job.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it yet
The Wow Factor
I can't keep my hands off it.
