Just got this last week and absolutely love it........can't wait to get the 5 button footswitch which will essentially make this a 6 channel amp with 3 channels and a boost for all of them.......zZounds staff was great and very patient with me as I first ordered a fender hot rod deluxe which had a problem......then a marshall dsl 40 combo that I just didn't care for the sound.........good amp just not the sound I was looking for then a marshall origin 20 combo.....sounded great but not enough power.......all good amps just not what I was looking for......then I got this and everything I wanted was there.......cleans that are amazing and the overdrives are some of the finest I've ever heard........and the reverb is quite nice and very useable unlike many amps I've played........plus the 12 monthly payments makes this quite affordable and in my budget.........many thanks to Blackstar and zZounds for making me sounds as good as I can........oh yea........buy one of these you'll love it......have not needed tech support but assuming it will be great too

I was looking for an all in one amp for home use and gigs. I live in an apartment so I can't afford to be loud all the time. The 4 watt mode tames the amp very nicely. It can get plenty of saturation at volumes lower than the tv. The clean channel is just that. Clean. It is on par with my Peavey classic 30. The gain channel can be shaped to sound any way you like. I would recommend this amp for any style of player. The reverb isn't going to blow you away but I always prefer pedals to onboard fx.

Tried and owned many amps over the years from Fender Twins to Marshall stacks, to SAE and Crown stereo amps with rack effects - but I must say this amp has the real mojo I've looked for - that basic tube warm growl - yep you can dial that in no problemo. If, for some reason :) you want a clean tidy channel, that's there too. It has all the effect loops and pedal inputs you would likely want. But i don't really care. Right now as it only came out of the box a few hours ago I'm basking in the great sounds from my Telly and Fender Noiseless. Lots of tone shaping available too on the face, but still think I'll likely find my spot and stay there ... The paper insert on the case has some blurbage but says one thing that came totally true for me "the sound in your head" - this is a sound I've wanted since I first salivated over an unaffordable (for me) Mesa Boogie in the late 70s.

Recently purchased the black and blue edition of the htclub 40 Mkii from zZounds and the tonal characteristics of this amplifier is amazing!!! From Marshall to fender, pure cleans to solid dirt, this amp shines! Imo and others, Blackstar has found the sweet spot! Solid 5 start rating for the amp! As well as zZounds giving the opportunity for people that don't have a grand or two in the bank waiting to be spent, giving people the opportunity to make monthly installments. Great company (the best company) great products, and great support!!! Thanks zZounds, and blackstar for the opportunity to play, and sound great! And if anybody is on the edge of wanting to buy one of these great amps my advice is go for it!! And use zZounds to assist because you WILL NOT regret it!

"Blackstar HT Club 40 MkII Combo Amp"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Great amp for the money. I've owned my club 40 for @ 5 years now & have never once had a problem with it. I've used it in clubs, when I didn't want to drag a 100-watt Marshall stack with me. I'm not fond of smothering myself with multiple effects, so I rely on the amp for the distorted sound, and switch to the bubbly clean "tube" sound. I mostly plug straight in. I'm sure I have videos of me playing one live under Paul Marion guitar, GBD trio featuring Raven, or recorded practice tunes. I only use sound effects when they are called for or tunes with significant effects like Pink Floyd Time, Breathe.

Best combo Amp I've ever owned. I bought the 5 button foot switch pedal so I could use the amps full potential. Great clean tone and great distortion and all in between. Very satisfied with this Amp myself. Plenty of power at that.

Well nothing is 100% and this time it was my turn to get the problem child. The details are not necessary but it got past the 45 days before it was determined to be seen. I live in a rural area making this a problem not often run into, I'm in a gap in service centers as I understand, so the MFG, had me send it to them, they took care of it themselves instead of putting it off on someone else. This is a standup group of people. Hat's off to service above and beyond I'm now going to order a Unity 500 with confidence.Thank's Tim

Hidey ho my musical compadres! I'm not going to give a lengthy review since my opinion is pretty much what most other people are saying about this amp - it sounds GREAT! Also it's LOUD! I'm glad it has that 4w setting -sheesh! It has many features for all kinds of tone shaping and will do everything from totally clean to over-the-top distortion - and without that annoying fizz sound of some other amps I've had including an Egnater Tweaker 15. This thing is on the heavy side but I hear that tube amps tend to be that way, plus it just seems like it's built pretty heavy duty - definitely has a quality look and fele, which is important to me. I tried my Strat and my Les Paul through it - of course both sound very good but I'll give the nod to the Strat, then again the Strat is ALWAY my favorite anyway hahaha. It's not cheap but as far as I'm concerned, this is a long term purchase - I just can't see outgrowing this amp in any way. If you're on the fence just GET IT - Sweetwater has a great return policy "just in case". Oh, and I ordered this thing on a Monday afternoon and got it TUESDAY!

Musical Background:

Been playing since 1971, played in church praise team for the past 20 years. Guitar, bass and drums.

Musical Style:

I play just about everything except metal and country.
