"If you're a pro studio snob, don't buy these....But if you're a real person with a real budget, BUY THESE! No need to look furth"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Once again, if you're a pro studio snob, or someone who thinks you can only get decent quality by paying out your butt for in-fashion brands, don't buy these. But if you're a real person who's not getting James Cameron to fund your projects, the Truths give you what you need and more at this price point. Sure, maybe Behringer "copied" the design, but as long as they sound good to me and I get to keep some of the money I've earned, I see no problem. I'm into principles too...especially the concept of giving commoners access to quality. All in all, maybe Genelecs, Events, or Mackies sound as good or better, but I listened to all of those big-name monitors in this class, and the Truths held their own and more. Why would anyone pay so much more? Oh, I forgot...peer-pressure from the "cool people." Screw that. If you want the biggest bang for your buck, get the Truths.
Sound
These things can hang right there with monitors that cost five time more. Nice, flat response, critical for studio monitoring, but can dress up the highs occasionally...nothing to worry about though.
Features
Most everything you need, nothing you don't. Pretty straight forward features, but no corners cut. The room-compensation feature is a BIG bonus at this price point. I'm not the biggest fan of having to dig behind and under to turn 'em on or make adjustments, but if you keep them on stands you'll have no problems.
Quality
Okay, you should know, I'm pretty darn anal. But overall, these monitors are solid. Great, tight construction, no crap here, especially at this price point. I've heard no rattles or bad sounds from mine. Don't let anyone discourage you with the "Behringer only makes junk copies of the real things" talk. These monitors are built right.
Value
Plain and simple: by far, THE BIGGEST BANG FOR THE SMALLEST BUCK, especially when compared to ANYTHING in this price range. The Truths give you performance worth much more than what you'll pay for them.
Manufacturer Support
Can't comment mmuch here. If I ever have a problem, I'm sure it might be difficult to reach the manufacturer, but isn't that how it goes with everything? I've had no need to call them yet, and I've had them almost two years so far.

"Great monitor sound at a terrific price."

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I'll keep them & recommend to others!!!!
Sound
I use these in a small analog & digital recording studio for about 10 months. Mainly acoustic stringed instruments[guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddles, bass] on old time country & bluegrass music. They produce great sound fields with accuracy. They compare to monitors I've used costing five times more.
Features
The control adjustments provided are very useful to matching units to your studio enviroment.
Value
Great value for the performance
The Wow Factor
They look great & sound great. All musicians in studio surprised with sound quality.

"Best price/performance ratio available in near-field monitors."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'll want to augment them with a subwoofer, but I'd say the same about any of the many near-field monitors I've used in the past.
Sound
The sound is quite nice. The frequency response is very flat, with some slight wavering between 13khz and 20khz (+/- 2-3dB). There is a very minor slope between 50hz and 10khz. Subjectively, they sound very flat (in a good way).
Features
The speakers feature 1/4" and XLR inputs (balanced or unbalanced), a built-in limitter (with an LED indicator). There are a lot of calibration options, including an input trim, low/high mutes, frequency attenuation switches designed to compensate for a subwoofer, room placement, and high frequency damping.
Quality
The materials are quality. The speakers are EM shielded so you can use them next to a monitor. The construction is nice and solid. Nothing jiggles around, even at very high volumes.
Value
They offer the best price/performance ratio in the business.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had to call them. I don't know what their service is like.
The Wow Factor
They look nice, and they sound great. Excellent product.

"Really the"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I guess some day I will grow out of these and take "the big bite" for Mackies. I can't really hear (the most important thing) any appreciable difference in monitors that are twice this price. Go somewhere where you can listen to many different monitors on the same song. The "Truth" is, you will choose these.
Sound
Perfect for mixing my own material and I am hearing sounds on old CD's that I never knew were there. Simply remarkable sound quality and not just "for the money" for any amount. They can also be adjusted for room conditions which you won't find on many competitve products. Nothing added to the sound, so if it's "crap" you know it's "crap".
Features
Power cables provided but nothing else. Quality speaker cables would have been a nice addition but no complaints.
Quality
I can find absolutely nothing negative regarding the quality. I bought "B STOCK" but I still cannot find anything wrong with regard to fit, finish and most importantly sound. Be careful unpacking as they are about 31 pounds out of the box. Really, it doesn't sound like much but the weight will surpise you. Get a grip!!!!!!
Value
You won't find anything of this quality (sound) for this money. I heard and compared several in this price range i.e. Alesis, Fostex,Yamaha, Tannoy, Event, etc., and nothing compared with this "bang for the buck".
Manufacturer Support
Have not had the need to contact them and don't think I will.
The Wow Factor
You'll want it too after to hear them. No disappointment here! Very nice to look at and honey to the ear.

"A nice set of monitors, at a great price - clean sound, loads of power, fairly flat response. Great value."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Could use a bit more muscle in the mid range, but overall sound is very clean and quite powerful. My main tip to best sound results, is to spend the time to tune them to your enviroment - "monitors" are not "speakers"...they're precision audio output "instuments". I didn't realize how true this was until I finally got a set of nearfield monitors. Once you find 'the zone', the audio quality results are truly fantastic!!
Features
Has both balanced and unbalanced TRS and XLR connectors, and various trims and frequency tuners on the rear of each unit.

Behringer B2031 Truth Monitor Speakers Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I got it as basically a set of "mains"...monitors that I can crank at the end of a session for clients. These do the job brilliantly for me. They're loud, and they sound pretty good. If lost or stolen, I'd probably get them again. I'll one day upgrade my monitoring setup...when my tracking/mixing monitors (Monitor Ones) die. Until then, the mixing/playback setup works with the Truths here.
Sound
Sounds pretty good. It's not Genelec or ADAM, but it translates fairly well. Good low end and highs. It's not as harsh as some people say, though it seemed so at the store, but less so in my studio.
Features
typical room placement settings and power settings, 8" woofers
Quality
Behringer doesn't have the greatest rep, but this seems like it will last for quite some time. Very sturdy.
Value
It's a steal, but still worth looking at the M-Audio BX8s in the sub-$500 price range.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them.
The Wow Factor
They look great, 'cause they look like Genelecs, with a decent neutral color scheme.

"Probably good if they wouldnt blow up"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm giving these one more chance. The thought of having them fail a third time makes me queasy and frankly I feel like a sucker at the moment. Time will tell
Sound
The sound is overly bright even in a well dampened, large environment. Nothing that I couldnt EQ out, just noteworthy. Also I have some problems with imaging, though I'm still playing around with set-up and room acoustics. I would comment on the mix accept that my Truth monitors have failed prior to the completion of any project.
Features
Fullfills my requirements for the price point.
Quality
The first time that these failed it was rather spectacular, electrical flash and a quick thread of flame followed by much smoke. I'm glad they werent unattended, it might have taken out my house. The second time (after a pretty quick warranty repair) I got the tweeter scream of death (well mimed by another unlucky reviewer). I'm about to send them out for this repair.
Value
If I ever get them to function for more than a couple of weeks I'll let everyone know about the value of these.
Manufacturer Support
Although I have been completely annoyed with this product the folks at Behringer have been prompt, courteous and helpful.
The Wow Factor
Any "sex appeal" has long worn off. Though I can still say that IF they hadnt failed I would probably being satisfied with the product.

Behringer B2031 Truth Monitor Speakers Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
they're good but dont expect a miracle for 300 dollars.I think they would be great to use with a sub. I have a Behringer compressor that I've had a couple of years and if these last as long I'd be more than satisfied.I still recommend these due to the price
Sound
Sound good but not enough low end
Quality
decent product but I also get RF interference-They also arent as loud as you think before they reach limit
The Wow Factor
look real nice - good addition

"The deal of the century!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I expect to have these speakers for a long, long time. I still find the value of these hard to believe. Although I will probably pick up the Mackies one day (in the future), these will stay with me. I also plan on obtaining other monitor speakers to have a variety of speakers to compare the final mix sound on. I am sure glad that these are the first powered speakers I chose.
Sound
I went back and forth for quite some time with the Truth B2031 and the Mackies. I was very leary because of some of the somewhat negative comments however, the final selling point was the price. I figured that even if I didn't like them, the $300 selling price would not break me, and I could always pick up the Mackies. The sound is incredible! Clear, open and accurate. I do not regret my decision at all. For the price, this speaker can not be beat.
Features
I can't believe the flexibility this speaker offers at such a modest price. Heck! even for 3 times the price, the input trim, power mode, low frequency adjustment, room compensation, high frequency compensation and the ability to mute each driver to perform troubleshooting is unbelievable.
Quality
Very well built and hefty. Solid enclosure. Quiet electronics.
Value
I can't imagine any better deal on monitor speakers! This must be the deal of the century.
Manufacturer Support
Just picked these speakers up however if the build quality is any indication, I don't anticipate needing contact with any support people.
The Wow Factor
Very appealing as far as monitors go. Nice and unobtrusive design. Although the speakers are somewhat larger than I expected, they are not too large to interfere when placed on a properly setup workstation.

"The BOMB!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If money is an issue, I would buy these compared to different monitors in its price range. I'm happy with what I bought. If stolen, I would buy another pair.
Sound
These monitor are accurate to me except I have a hard time hearing reverb trails. It may be my positioning or the room I'm mixing in. The controls in the back are vast for monitors costing $400.
Features
More features than monitors costing the same price. Most bang for the buck.
Quality
It seems to be made well.
Value
Thats why I bought these because of the value.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
Not much sex appeal but I didn't buy them for that.

"TOP"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Distinct flat response is absolutly brilliant
Features
The best feature is the presets that can be used for room compensation making these monitors extremly versatile
Quality
The finish is beautiful and it has very pleasing aesthetics. It gives the appearance that it is a solid construction (which it is) and is simple in its design
Value
Its not bad. I think that it should be alittle cheaper
Manufacturer Support
So far no repairs or questions have needed to be answered by the manufacturers
