zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Take control of your creativity with the Notion Progression guitar software. It allows you to both record and write song notations, for maximum flexibility.

Finally there is guitar software as creative as you are. Progression features thousands of real electric and acoustic guitar samples from Neil Zaza, and electric bass and drums samples from Grammy Award winners Victor Wooten and Roy "FutureMan" Wooten. Guitar and bass amp simulators are included, and VST-hosting capability enables you to use your own effects plug-ins, and amp modelers to give you complete control over the guitar tone. You can quickly enter guitar tablature or standard notation with your keyboard and mouse - or you can play your music on a MIDI guitar or MIDI keyboard and Progression notates your performance for you. Make changes to the guitar tablature and the notation automatically updates, and vice-versa.

1.5 GB high-quality sample library with built-in guitar effects and amp simulators
Hear your creations with professional studio-quality sound: each string has been sampled individually up the fretbaord with multiple dynamic layers to deliver impeccable realism. Progression's sample library includes electric and acoustic guitar, electric and upright bass, drum set, piano, clavinet and Fender Rhodes(R) keyboard. With the built-in FX editor, you can send tracks through numerous amp models, cabinet, and digital effects including reverb, chorus, and delay - or use your own VST effects. You can even experiment with amp tubes and components to create your own amp.

"Sounds are awful"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Progression 2 is a subset Notion 4, which I have. I have recently been working on music for electric guitar, and I found the sounds coming from Notion 4 to be nothing like an electric guitar. I bought Progression 2 as specialist guitar software in the expectation that the soundbanks would sound like guitars. Sadly, they are the same rubbish as those on Notion 4. I found this out only when I had registered the software - you can't use it until you've registered it. Notion will not unregister my software so that I can sell it, so I'm stuck with useless software that duplicates what I already have. In my opinion, DO NOT buy this software because of Notion's devious and unhelpful tactics.
