The un-lathed center plays especially responsive with a strong bell while the lathed edge provides a more sustained attack and crash than the average cymbal.

Designed with one of Japan's top drummer's Akira Jimbo. Unlathed, buffed center provides defined stick attack and strong bell. Outside lathed edge increases spread and crashability.

What an amazing sound. This is a TRUE crash-ride cymbal with the emphasis on "ride." The bell provides what a bell always provides....at the highest level, while the inner portion provides a very distinctly musical ping. The outside provides a warm wash as in a 19" medium-thin crash. You can get many sounds from this instrument and a little bit of exploration will tell you immediately how great a piece this really is. I now have two distinct cymbals for the price of a great ride and I am happy as a California cow....best cymbal I ever owned.....after 4 + decades
