I had this piano for about a month before I purchased a Nord Piano 3. You probably think the Nord blows the Yamaha out of the water, but that just isn't true. I do prefer the Nord Piano Library for its flexibility and variety, but I have an RD-2000 as well, and I vastly preferred the Yamaha CP4 Pianos to those in the RD-2000. The piano sounds and electric piano sounds here, are just about the best you will find right now. The action, frankly puts the Nord Piano 3s to shame, and it is actually much faster and more responsive than the RD-2000 PHA-50. The only real fault I could find with the CP4, is that it is not the most robust as far as construction goes. In that department, the RD-2000 and Nord Piano 3 most certainly win, but I also wouldn't be afraid to gig with the CP4, provided you have a good HARD case. Don't use a "gig bag" please! Having the CFX samples, CFII Samples, and what turned out to be my favorite...the S6 samples, all in one instrument, is absolutely awesome! The ensemble sounds here are very good as well, and specially the pads and analog strings go well with the pianos. I am an extremely critical musician, and I evaluate all my gear with three criteria, in the following order. Build Quality (I give the CP4 a 6 out of 10)Feel (8.7 out of 10)Sound Quality (9 out of 10)If you are considering a Nord Piano, RD-800, or Casio Privia, you really ought to give the CP4 a serious look, listen, and PLAY!
