I wanted a small little amp head for saving space and being able to cart all my gear in one haul. I usually play thru a 600 watt amp head. I got the ELF in the mail from zZounds, opened it, and headed right to the gig. Sketchy right? Never heard it or played thru it before. I set it up at the gig expecting it to work but not sure of it would be loud enough for the venue and a full band. (A small Bar) Holy crap! I am totally blown away with this little ELF. I am so glad I pulled the trigger and got this. WAY more than a practice amp it is PLENTY loud enough for small gigs and even better, It sounds GREAT! Simple controls nothing fancy but enough to get some very nice sounds and fill the room with boom. Comes with a little carrying case and is so small, its crazy. Built tough and Did I mention it sounds great. I was playing it thru a Hartke Speaker cab with a custom Birdsong bass. Mind blown for such a little amp head to pack the punch it does. If you're wanting to lighten the load and go small this is a good choice. Try it out. I don't think you will regret it at all. I will be using the ELF a Whole LOT from now on. Small venues, bars, etc. This thing is amazing. 200 watts at 4 ohms rich solid sound. DI out sounds great as well. Im extremely happy with this purchase so far.
