The TC132SC is handcrafted in Takamine's pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades.

This nylon string classical guitar pays homage to traditional classical instruments and follows closely to the original drawings of Antonio Torres. It is the first choice of performing classical Latin and jazz musicians looking for pure nylon string tone at amplified volume levels. The solid cedar top produces a warm full tone with plenty of dynamic range. The solid rosewood back aids in the projection and enhances the sonic brilliance of the instruments. Gloss natural finish provides durability and adds to the beauty of the guitar. The mahogany neck features a dual action truss rod, which keeps the guitar playing perfectly in any environment.

Includes Takamine's proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube preamp system. The dual-channel CTP-3 provides low-voltage tube tone, variable from bright and brilliant to thick and warm, three band EQ with semi-parametric midrange, auxiliary input and volume (for use when a second pickup is added), and an onboard chromatic tuner.

I owned a late 90's EC132SC years ago that I took classical lessons on for 5 years. I sure do regret selling that guitar. I replaced it recently with a new TC132SC. Aside from the electronics the guitars seem identical. I was stunned at how familiar the TC feels! This is a great guitar acoustically and plugged in. I use high tension (Augustine Regal Blue) strings and they seem to make this guitar very articulate and responsive. The cool tube preamp is over the top and allows me to find a sound through my acoustic amp (an old Carvin AG100D) that sounds close to micing the the guitar (yes, it is that good). I plan to add a second pickup to utilize the auxiliary pickup input in the preamp just to experiment. The onboard tuner is fabulous. This guitar is easy to finger and the cutout is a nice bonus. My main electric is a PRS 513 through a Mesa Mark V, so I have a taste for high quality instruments, but for my limited use of this guitar to study theory, practice sight reading, and getting immersed in the classical style, I can't possibly see needing more. There are many popular songs recorded wth this guitar! The fit, finish, and set up is superb out of the box, as is the case that it came in. BTW, I took a chance and bought a "blemished" model at substantial savings from zZounds and the guitar is just perfect. You can't go wrong with this guitar!
