The Custom 24 is the original design first introduced by PRS in 1985 as a solidbody guitar with maple top, mahogany back, dual humbuckers, and the patented PRS tremolo. This semi-hollow version adds natural resonance and a vibrant, organic tone.

The humbuckers in this model are PRS 85/15 "S" pickups, which can be tapped via the push/pull tone control for more sounds. The addition of the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system furthers the instrument's versatility by offering electric and acoustic tones in one guitar. The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics and piezo) and output jacks (mix/piezo and magnetics).

Players can plug into the "Mix/Piezo" jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 85/15 "S" pickups with the piezo's acoustic tones. Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard.
