The PRS Paul Reed Smith SE A30E includes the classic combination of a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides. Rosewood provides players with bell-like highs and full bass response for an overtone-rich sound. The A30E also features the PRS 15.5" Angelus Cutaway body shape and the x-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing design found on PRS's acclaimed Private Stock acoustic instruments, as well as the PRS trademark bird inlays and headstock design. The undersaddle electronics, which are accessible via the soundhole with both tone and volume controls, provide added flexibility and functionality for the gigging musician.

High-quality components include a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, bone nut and saddle, and PRS designed tuners and a hard shell case. The Angelus Cutaway body shape is both aesthetically pleasing and provides easy access to the upper frets.

Exceeded my expectations, especially when considering value vs price. Mine had a great grain/looking top, rosewood back/sides were nicely done along with great neck/fret work. They might have went a bit heavy/thick on the clear coat finish, but that's pretty normal for imports and lower-mid level guitars. Case is a big bonus and nice quality. Action was nice and low (about 5.5-6/64 on low e) right out of the box, which is rare from the mfg to be that near perfect. These are inspected/final set up by a tech at PRS in Maryland and it shows. I am perfectionist on my action so I lowered the saddle just a smidge to get my 5/64 on the low e, but most would not even need to worry about that! Neck /truss rod relief adjustment was dead on also with no buzzing. I installed my favorite John Pearse PB strings and boy does this guitar sound good. Plenty of bass and trebles with a good growl to it accompanied by nice sustain. Pick up is okay, but that's a piezo for you, nothing to write home about compared to a Tak with a cool tube or higher end Fishman. I have several other nice higher end Takamines, a Yamaha, and an older beautiful all solid body Taylor 214e (spruce top/solid sapele back & sides pretty much equal to a 314), and this PRS rivals them for a lot less money/investment. Plus I am sure it will open up a bit with age and get a little better. All in all, this guitar fights and plays above its weight class for sure! zZounds had fast shipping, guitar was perfect and read more pay as you play is a great program. Had one hiccup that they would not match a stupid deal of the hour price from MF even with proof, but Ill get over it I guess.
