Overview

Martin took the GPCX2AE Macassar and reimagined it. The result is the GPC-X2E Macassar. This Grand Performance sized model features a cutaway body with a macassar top and Macassar pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides. New mother-of-pearl pattern inlay on the rosette and fingerboard lend a richness to the GPC-X2E Macassar, making it as impressive to look at as it is to play. A Performing Artist neck, fingerboard, and bridge of select hardwood improve upon the sound transfer of this model. It is equipped with Fishman MX electronics and strung with Martin's Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 strings. With a new, soft gig bag featuring headstock, bridge, and endpin protectors, a durable water-repellent exterior and foam padding, this model is ready to go anywhere.

I at the end of May I purchased this guitar from zZounds. The guitar arrived in great condition. I am a repeat customer of zZounds and highly recommend them. I am a musician that plays on stage and goes to open mics at times and feel that I may review this guitar fairly.Mine is the solid Macassar top.1The guitar for its shape is comfortable to play.2) It is a good-looking guitar.3) Sound when pushed can be loud when not plugged in.4) The sound is pleasant and has a nice Bass end that comes out.5) The Sustain is good. 6) All notes ring out clear.7) The Guitar is very good for strumming and great for fingerpicking. You are getting the best of both worlds here.8) When plugged in, once your tone and volume is set the guitar sounds great and will play it on stage. Sonitone pick up is working without issues and sounds very good.9) I feel the Build is of quality and feel Martin has hit a home run with this guitar.10) Nice gig bag comes along with it.11) The string height was spot on and find it very easy to play and no issues at all with Barre Chords up and down the neck.I am very impressed with this guitar and has become a favorite. Yes, the Back and sides is HPL and the top and bracing and neck , Finger Board and saddle are solid wood. This guitar for its price is great. I would not hesitate to tell someone to buy it. You are getting a lot of guitar for the price. Very pleased with this Martin.
