A Note About Moog's Dark Series Keyboards

Production is coming to a close for Moog Music’s Dark Series Grandmother and Matriarch semi-modular analog synthesizers.

Originally released with distinct multi-colored overlays, Grandmother and Matriarch have become staples in studio setups and live performance settings, go-to synthesizers for beginners, and multifaceted creative tools used by musicians of all skill levels to explore the power of analog sound.

The all-black aesthetic of the Dark Series came about as a nod to the modular control panel designs that inspired their very creation. The circuitry, spirit, and analog effects of Grandmother and Matriarch are derived from the classic Moog modular synthesizers designed by Bob Moog himself during the '60s and '70s.

When I opened the box I couldn’t help but be in awe. Immediately you can see and feel the high quality of this instrument. Absolutely beautiful. It sounds even better. I bought this on impulse after seeing Mike Dean and 2 chainz making some slaps with it. It lived up to the hype. By far the nicest and best sounding piece of music equipment I’ve purchased. Best of all I ordered it and it was at the door the very next afternoon. Thank you zZounds!!

Sound

The sound is extremely rich and detailed. “Organic” is the word that comes to mind. I feel you could use this in a wide range of genres.

Features

You can run other synths, drum machines or vocals through the synth for some awesome sounds.
