Kali Audio LP-6 2-Way 6.5" Powered Studio Monitor

This studio monitor delivers accuracy and power beyond its price, thanks to Kali Audio's proprietary waveguide, and 1.5" voice coil behind a 6.5" LF driver.

Kali Audio's LP-6 is a 6.5-inch studio monitor. The LP-6 is designed to allow you to hear every detail that's happening in your mix. This starts with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. Nothing is boosted or suppressed to cover flaws or try to sound more pleasing.

See how pianist Greg Spero uses Kali Audio monitors to produce his Tiny Room video series:

In addition to this accuracy, the LP-6 uses a proprietary waveguide that allows you to hear 3-dimensional spatial details and represents a soundstage that is wider, taller, and deeper than the placement of the speakers themselves.

A 1.5-inch voice coil and massive motor structure ensure excellent excursion and power from the woofer, which gives you clear, powerful bass and midrange with plenty of detail.

The low noise port tube lets bass extend lower without adding any noise to the mix from air exiting the tube.

Boundary EQ settings let you configure the speaker for where you have it set up in your room, and a variety of convenient connectors make it easy to integrate into your existing setup.

With the LP-6 you can mix with more confidence, and you can also be assured that your mix will translate as best as possible to whatever systems your audience is using.

I recently purchased these to use in a home studio and I made this purchase off of pure hype and affordability. I normally get burned going this route but I kept hearing that these were the truth from people I trust so I bought em. I wasn't prepared for what I was getting. First things first: These are made with care and a quality that seem to be reserved for more high end models. They're solid and have weight to them. I was also surprised just how big the cabinet was but again - pleasantly surprised. Second: The positional guides printed directly on the back of these are so thorough and abundant that you'd be hard pressed to find any situation you might place these not listed. And they're extremely helpful to getting that accurate reproduction you'd be looking for. Third: The sound is brilliantly flat. Nothing seems cut or boosted in any way. It's remarkable. However... They SLAP. At a reasonable listening level, they have low end that rumbles, mids that sit snug in the mix and highs that aren't harsh or washed. It's simply amazing how even these sound across the frequency spectrum and without a sub. If you want to get surgical, you'll obviously need a sub but so far, I'm not running into any situation of use where I've even felt I needed one. Simply put - they sound like monitors that would normally cost you a helluva lot more than $300 a pair. I'll end this by simply saying that if you're in the market for monitors - and especially if you're creating Rap/Trap/R&B/Pop or virtually read more any other kind of music - give these a serious consideration/chance. You won't be disappointed.
