Birdseye maple fretboard Beautiful grain; delivers clear and bright tone
DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups Cutting high end; tight, compressed bottom end

With the growing popularity of the Iron Label series, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous RGA body shape from the "chassis" up, the RGAIX6MQM has been designed to add some dark, dramatic flair to the brand's no-frills "made-for-metal" lineup.

This striking 6-string electric brings an air of mysterious beauty to the Iron Label line. The guitar's transparent flat finished Quilted Maple top creates an aura that is truly mesmerizing. Matched with a Mahogany body, these woods combine to create a warm, yet expressive tone.

Working from the philosophy that playing comfort translates into speed and articulation, the RGAIX6MQM features a spacious, bound Birdseye Maple fretboard mounted on a 3-piece Maple/Purpleheart Nitro Wizard neck that both enhances playing agility and optimizes clarity. Luminescent side dots are provided on the neck for increased visibility in darker playing environments.

The acclaimed Ibanez Gibraltar Standard II bridge improves sustain and provides faultless intonation. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes. Specifically developed for this guitar through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid range. An added coil-tap feature, easily accessible through a conveniently located on/off read more mini switch, provides even greater tonal options.
The RGAIX6MQM is yet another reason why the Ibanez Iron Label series is winning over new die-hard converts every day.

I can't believe no one has bought and reviewed this guitar, yet! First off, let me just say that the pics don't do this thing justice. It's ridiculously beautiful and I didn't realize I was going to be able to see the wood grain under the paint job until I got it. It looks amazing. Everything about this guitar is nuts. The looks, the sound and the playability are out of this world. The high E string had come out of the tuning peg on it's way to me, but that didn't matter at all. I bought replacement strings, anyway, as I like to do this with all of my new guitars and I like thicker strings than what comes standard on these guitars. I put a set of Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky Cobalts on and tuned it to Drop C. My first time trying these strings, as well, and I love the tension and stability for tuning down. I knew they would sound great because my experience with EB's Cobalt strings has always been good. Didn't even have to adjust anything putting these on, either, which I was pleasantly surprised by. The action, intonation and neck relief was still where I wanted it. I love the Gotoh locking tuners. Never had a pair of locking tuners before. They make string changing super fast and hold tuning extremely well. I can beat the hell out of my strings and the guitar will still be in tune. The DiMarzio Fusion Edge pups sound fantastic and the coil tap switch is a nice feature. I love the range of tones I can get with this bad boy. My only real complaint was just a little bit of fret ends read more sticking out, but not much. They don't cut my hands up or anything and I don't necessarily feel the need to file them down just yet. It's just that I have a $200 and a $400 guitar that didn't have this problem so I guess I would hope it wouldn't exist on a $900 guitar lol. Oh well. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this guitar and with zZounds. Thank you!
