This is probably the very last guitar I will be buying. My son owns a Gibson Les Paul custom shop Elete, and I have already willed the Dove to him to knock around on after I'm gone.
Sound
I own a 1990 model, (S/N 91920015) and it just keeps sounding better all the time. I play a lot of John Fogerety, Rolling Stones, Beatles, and it sounds exactly like any one of their guitars.
Features
The maple sides and back really make mine sound great. Really crisp and clear tone. I tried a Hummingbird first before playing the Dove, and the sound was like day and night.
Ease of Use
The guitar was set up perfect to me right off the rack.....very easy to play and sounded great. My son pays guitar and many of his friends play also, and this guitar is the "legend" of our city. Everyone loves the sound and playability of my Dove.
Quality
The Dove stands second to none in my opinion. After 20 plus years of pretty intense playing, it is still in showroom condition. It will hold it's tune after hours of playing, or just sitting in the case for weeks.
Value
I paid $1,075.00 for it back in 1991 and that was a ton of money back then, but it was the best money I have ever spent.
Manufacturer Support
Although I have never had to contact the company, this is a testement to the quality of the instrument.
The Wow Factor
The workmanship and craftmanship is excellent, and the Dove inlays make this a very appealing instrument in my opinion.
