Check out our exclusive run-down of the Boss RC-30 Loop Station Twin Pedal:

Easy and Intuitive Looping

Say you just need to loop a guitar riff for a few bars. That's as easy as a couple taps of your feet. For added convenience, you can turn on the RC-30's Auto Recording feature, which automatically starts recording the moment you start playing. And if you need a lead-in, the RC-30's Count-In mode provides a bar of rhythm before you start recording.

Stack Two Stereo Loops

It's just as easy to add a second track to a loop. The RC-30's two stereo tracks are synchronized with one another, and each has independent level and mute controls for mixing. You can undo and redo as you record, so take as long as you want to get the perfect take.

Rhythm Tracks

To help you stay in tempo, the RC-30 features ten rhythm patterns you can play along with as you record. This includes Rock, Funk, Pop, and other popular styles and time signatures. You can tap tempo to set the speed and use the Level knob to adjust the volume of the rhythm read more track.

An Array of Effects

The RC-30 features an impressive sampling of much-loved BOSS effects, including Pitch-Bend, Phaser, Sweep Filter, Delay, and Lo-Fi. Whereas with most other loopers you'd have to add more effects pedals to your set-up, with the RC-30 these effects come on-board.

Internal and External Storage

The RC-30's internal memory allows up to three hours of storage, so long, uninterrupted playing sessions are not a problem. You can store up to 99 different loops in the internal memory. There's also a USB 2.0 port that lets you export loops to a hard drive and import them back later.

Ins and Outs For All Applications

Many musicians will use the RC-30 as part of a guitar effects rack, and its dual 1/4" TRS ins/outs are suited perfectly to that purpose. It also has an XLR input, complete with phantom power, so vocalists and acoustic instrumentalists can use the RC-30. Finally, the RC-30's 1/8" auxiliary input can bring in audio from a laptop, smartphone, or other digital sound device.

A Great Dual Stereo Looper

It won't take long for you see why the RC-30 has earned a reputation for great sound, ease of use, and limitless utility. Its simple looping set-up, variety of processing and recording tools, and deep storage capabilities are the stuff of performers' dreams.

Boss RC-30 Loop Station Twin

BOSS celebrates the 10th anniversary of the LoopStation with an exciting lineup of RC-series loopers! First out of the gate is the RC-30, a Twin Pedal multitrack looper with two synchronized stereo tracks and built-in loop effects. Plug in your instrument of choice, or even a microphone; an XLR input is provided, complete with phantom power. Record for up to three hours direct to internal memory, adding effects as you go. The USB 2.0 port lets you save your loops externally, and import/export WAV files.

Twin Stereo Loops

Create and stack multi-layered loops with twin stereo tracks -- each track being independently controllable with dedicated volume faders and track-select buttons. Creating loops is convenient with the Auto Recording feature, which starts recording the moment you begin playing your guitar, bass, keyboard, or singing, or as soon as you start a connected audio player. Count-In mode gives you one-bar of rhythm before recording starts. You can Undo/Redo as you go. The sky's the limit, with three hours of recording time!

Onboard Effects

Fans of BOSS's world-famous effects will be pleased to find a lineup of creative effects onboard the RC-30. Bend Down provides a dramatic pitch-bend effect. Step Phaser changes phase in incremental steps. Sweep Filter alters frequency in sync with the current tempo. Tempo Delay produces a tempo-synced delay effect. Lo-Fi intentionally degrades the sound to create a distinctive character. Dunk your loops in cool effects without the cost and hassle of adding external gear.

Mic Input

Vocalists can plug a microphone of their choice directly into the RC-30's XLR microphone input, complete with phantom power if you wish to use a condenser mic. Sing, overdub, and make multi-layered loops of your voice, create vocal sound-effects patterns, or point the microphone at your acoustic musical instruments, or anything that makes noise and turn it into a cool loop. You don't have to be a musician to get in on the LoopStation action!

Rhythm Guide

To keep your loops tight and in time, play along with one of the basic rhythm patterns in the RC-30's onboard library as you record. Ten types of rhythm types are provided, including Rock, Pop, Funk, Shuffle, R&B, and Latin. A dedicated knob lets you adjust the volume of the rhythm, and you can set the tempo incrementally or via tap tempo. You can also specify the time signature. When you save a phrase, the rhythm type and time signature will also be saved.

USB Connectivity

You can connect the RC-30 to your computer via a standard USB cable, and back up your RC-30 phrases to your computer for safekeeping. You can also load WAV files from your computer directly into the RC-30. The RC-30 accepts 16-bit/44.1 kHz WAV files of up to 1.7 GB in size.

AUX Input

In addition to recording your instrument performances and turning them into playable loops, you can record other external stereo audio sources via the AUX IN. Sound from a digital-audio player or other device connected to the AUX input can easily be recorded and added to your loop.

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I've been a Boss customer for a long time and I've thoroughly enjoyed this product to say the least. First and foremost, when you buy a Boss pedal the sound is second to none and the quality is the best I've seen in a pedal and this one is no differen. All steel cconstruction like all their pedals. The possibilities are endless with the rc-30. I bought it to use with my acoustic. I'm in the rock band Another Beautiful Letdown and my singer and I recently started picking up some acoustic gigs during down time to keep busy and keep our chops up. I mainly use this pedal to loop rhythm parts so I can add the lead parts live without the rhythm dropping out. I can tell that Im going to use this pedal alot the more gigs we do. I've only had it about 3 weeks so I've only tapped the surface of what this thing can do. I also like the rhythm section to use to just jam. It has 9 different rhythms and you set your own tempo. We build and layer our loops live so the crowd can hear each part being added but you can also save your loops to recall later which is cool. You can also load files from your computer to loop which I have not gotten to yet but Imsure tthat's in the near future. I could go on and on and I've only had the pedal 3 weeks. If your reading this you've come to the right place. You won't find this product any cheaper than Zzounds and their customer service is top notch. I highly recommend this product and Zzounds and I'll definitely continue to shop here.

It duplicates exactly what you play into it. It has some cool effects that sound great but for what Im doing with it, I haven't found a use for them yet. Once you get your timing down for starting and stopping your loops you've got it made.

Features
The effects sound really cool but probably my least useful feature so far. For acoustic I'm just using a little chorus and reverb. The most useful is having two independent loops. I also bought the Boss fs6 foot switch which I recommend if you intend to use it live. It allows you to switch between loops on the fly.

Ease of Use
Sounds great from square 1. Very easy to use. As long as you have good timing you won't have any problems. If your timing is off your loop won't sound right when it loops but after a little practice you'll be making great sounding seamless loops.

Quality
It's built like all Boss pedals. Solid as a rock. When Im on the road Boss is the only brand pedals I use and I've never had one fail me yet.

Value
I was a little hesitant at first because their are cheaper loopers on the market but the cheaper ones don't have the features this one has and after receiving and using this product I'd say it's worth twice what it sells for.

Manufacturer Support
I've never dealt with them because I've never had one of their products go down.

The Wow Factor
I've had nothing but great experiences with Boss pedals and always look to them first when shopping pedals.
