Experience EDGE At Its Maximum Potential

Using the Discrete MP with the Edge Duo Modeling Microphone unlocks its full potential. Both units utilize discrete analog circuitry and were designed by Igor Levin himself to complement each other perfectly.

The two will work with any recording system. Thanks to its dedicated calibration oscillator, Discrete MP is easily adaptable to all studio setups, even those without precise gain linking between two channels. When connecting to a new system, simply engage the built-in oscillator to calibrate the preamp for perfect gain matching.

Use the Discrete MP's sterling analog preamps to capture the tone of your favorite mic in crystal-clear detail. Or pair it with the Edge Duo Modeling Microphone and choose your favorite preamp to recreate classic, time-tested studio sounds. Using the free native plug-ins, you can audition countless combinations of microphones, preamps, and vintage outboard gear to get the perfect tone.

The Edge Strip bundle offers natural analog sound, combined with the benefits of precise digital control. The USB connection offers a simple way to control the Edge Strip remotely, from your computer.

The Discrete MP includes two XLR+TRS combo inputs, as well as two TRS outputs. The discrete analog circuits in the Discrete MP offer up to 61dB of gain. Designing them in-house, Antelope Audio had total control over the coloration, clarity, and character of the preamps.

Each Edge Duo Modeling Microphone consists of a special double-sided capsule with 10 microns gold-sputtered membranes. This allows us to accomplish multi-dimensional modeling and emulate a variety of different microphones, polar patterns, and even control the proximity effect.

Special AFX

The Edge Strip bundle includes Antelope Audio's custom AFX signal processors, including a growing list of superior microphone emulations that bring field-proven microphone legends into your setup. The programming experts, in cooperation with analog engineers and mic designers, developed these microphone emulations. Each plug-in uses a high degree of oversampling and precise floating-point calculations to accurately model vintage effects with unparalleled detail.

Even when emulating microphones, preamps, and signal processors, you can breathe easy, knowing the Edge Strip offers minimal latency and Antelope Audio's signature sound. Pick up an Edge Strip today and say goodbye to your bulky vintage gear!

Things sure keep changing in the music technology world. Now, with this package, you can have access to the sounds of thousands of dollars worth of microphones that are considered the best ever made. The emulations sound fantastic. While I'm sure there are details that are different compared to the hardware originals (and no two mics sound the same, especially when you are talking about decades old vintage mics), the Edge Duo is close enough to make a difference where it counts - in your mix. The Discrete MP dual preamp is super clean, as would be expected, and needed for the emulation software to do it's job properly. I think you will using this package, as it opens up a whole new universe of tonal possibilities with minimal investment.

Sound
The Edge Duo by itself is a very clean and detailed sounding microphone, and would be useful for a variety of applications where a dual-membrane condenser microphone would be desired. Meaning, you could use it just about anywhere. The emulations, the reason you no doubt would be purchasing this package, are absolutely wonderful. I have had the pleasure of having been able to use some of the microphones Antelope modeled for their edge line. The emulations sound very detailed, and while some of the models only show subtle differences as you switch through them, the same thing would be true if you were doing it with the original hardware. The difference being that you can do so with a mouse click, as opposed read more to pulling down and putting up any number of microphones. This can save your singer as well, since you can record one pass and switch between all of the available options afterward...talk about handy!

Features
The capability to change microphone models after the fact is insanely cool and useful. You never know when a switch to a different mic sound could make all the difference in a mix long after your tracking sessions were completed.

Ease of Use
If you know how to dial up enough preamp gain for your sound source, you're almost all the way home. The rest is a few mouse clicks to get the desired model.

Quality
The microphone and preamp both feel very well made, and I don't see any weak spots to be concerned about breaking. The included shockmount and pop filter seem well made and quite serviceable as well. Thank you for those extra goodies, Antelope!

Value
Yes, this package is absolutely worth what I paid, and is very comparable to competitor's similar items.

Manufacturer Support
The few times I have spoken with Antelope, they were prompt and polite. I use their Orion Studio Rev. 2017 as the heart of my studio currently, and I lvoe the stellar sound I get from it. I recommend the Orion as well, but Antelope are releasing an updated version with more advanced processing capabilities in the near future. Something to look into!

The Wow Factor
The capability to have a locker full of microphones most people could never afford is just simply amazing.
